Extrapolating from that, we should appreciate and celebrate the collective in so many forms, from music to bike racing to making buildings and so much more.

Was there on Friday and thought exactly the same thing.

Starmer is lobbying Europe to join him in watering down the ECHR. This illiberalism will harm us all | Steve Valdez-Symonds The prime minister and his counterpart in Denmark want a concerted effort to weaken human rights across Europe. This isn’t pragmatism – it’s cruelty, says Steve Valdez-Symonds, refugee and migrant rig...

“It is the Brexit playbook:…
It did not work then and it will not work now. Because once you agree that rights are the real obstacle, you have already handed victory to those who want rid of them altogether.”

Important read on blaming the ECHR for govt failure.

It was new to me too, and what a lovely discovery. I agree re Soane, his use of light was wonderful. I also like the fact that he walked regularly from Pitzhanger to work at the BoE.

It’s lovely isn’t it? Really enjoyed both the building and art a visit there a few weeks ago on a diversion from the Capital Ring walk.

Lovely stage of the Capital Ring walk today through Greenford. Beautiful Autumnal colours and lots of human interest.

Sonali, if it were possible to see a copy I would love that. Happy to make a contribution if that can be done.

Couldn’t agree more. I had a great trip earlier in the Summer stopping in Coventry, Wolverhampton, Rochdale, Carlisle and Glasgow and going on to Orkney and Northumberland. Interesting stuff all along the way.

The Man Who Lives On The M62

It’s a shame the retaliatory story isn’t true but however it came about, John Shuttleworth understood the existential angst that might have been felt by the farmer.

Interesting. I live in Tunbridge Wells and so notice when its residents are published. Two letters recently in the Guardian were far from the old stereotype, if maybe fitting a newer one - one on how to store copies of the Guardian Feast supplement, one on Jeremy Corbyn’s potato growing.
