Yall, I am not a warehouse architect. I understand the warehouses are shitty as is and no one should be in them. But if billions weren’t being poured into DHS the point is that it could be poured into making unused real estate better right? Into helping people? We can all imagine this reality, yes?

Of course there is another analysis about the warehouses being empty in the first place and the alignment of corporate greed, offshoring, etc and ginned up resentment towards immigrants benefitting all the same people.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.
