Remember, just because your landord says it's a licence doesn't make it so. In fact both parties intending to create a residential licence doesn't necessarily make it so.
It's more of a vibe thing (which isn't a great way to arrange the rules which determine if people are homeless or not)

The thousandth example of why the government should grasp the nettle and legislate for residential licence arrangements.
Even a statutory definition of a licence in these contexts would be progress.
Mint is officially an Irish distribution i think. As far as I know the company is registered here.
I'm not sure Vance realises the centuries of feeling that he's up against. The Catholic church was very old before America was born and will probably outlast it.
As night follows day, the latest nonsense to emerge from the psyche of Patrick O'Donovan is shot down by a grown up.
Surely at this stage government PR people are tired of issuing statements which begin "What Minister O'Donovan meant to say was...."
Fianna Fáil Dublin Central byelection candidate councillor John Stephens lied on a planning application for a second house
He falsely claimed in a planning application form his Dublin home was up for sale to secure permission for a second house in Galway

A very detailed and incisive video from @squidgerugby.bsky.social about the doldrums of rugby in Cymru, which manages to be about more than just rugby. Da iawn hogiau.

A memorial to Johnny Santos, a Brazilian man who had just moved to Ireland, who was crushed by a cement truck while cycling which has been vandalised.
I'm raging.
Those fucking Mé Féin-er blockaders went and vandalised the memorial to that poor young lad, Johnny Santos, who was crushed by the cement truck on Abbey Street less than two weeks ago.
They're just such irredeemable cunts.
Genuinely one of the worst ministers in recent memory. Simply not up to the job. His every pronouncement is just the prelude to the inevitable walkback from more able politicians.

Canvassing in Glasnevin with my brilliant colleague cllr Dan Ennis today. Possibly the first time in my life I walked past the Gravedigger's without going for a pint!
If you want community-minded people who live their values representing you in the Dáil, Dan is your man!

This is the man who says he represents the people of Ireland and is the leader of the 'revolution'.... Fuel protest organiser had tax judgments of €550,000 and was convicted of cruelty after 60 cattle died on farm www.independent.ie/irish-news/f...
A balanced and sensible statement on the right to protest and the limitations of that right from ICCL.

The US Constitution provides a mechanism to lawfully remove a President who has lost control of his senses and has sunk into paranoid dementia.
The failure to use that mechanism means that his actions, and the blood spilt due to them, are on the those who refused to follow the constitution and act
Neither elderly Saint Helenian tortoises, nor revered Canadian generals, are safe from the media declaring them dead based on rumour and misinformation.
In a bizarre development John de Chastelain may not, in fact, be dead. The numerous reports of his death appear to have been withdrawn.
An incredible legacy. A soldier whose obituary will rightly be dominated by talk of peace and the destruction of weapons of war.
May he rest in peace.

Unusually stong words from Micheál Martin.
"It confirms what many suspected that the Hungarian government has been doing the bidding for Russia within the European Union for quite some time."

Encouraging to see some action, but this particular group of teenagers have been causing harm and distress in Bangor for a significant period of time. It's unfortunate that it took someone being assaulted for state intervention to occur.

"when ye make many prayers, I will not hear; your hands are full of blood."
In a direct rebuke to the heretical prayers for "overwhelming violence" from the US administration, Pope Leo states that [God] "does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them."

Did this last weekend. Deeply unpleasant, but makes you appreciate the people who built the sewers which are still operating a century later.

Hugely significant report from IPRT on poverty, inequality and the criminal justice system.
The finding that ustice contact is more likely where material hardship interacts with punitive or inaccessible systems should guide Irish government justice policy going forward

Greyhound racing is cruel and barbaric.
It is appalling that millions in irish taxpayer money is wasted in sustaining an industry that would have faded into history without it.
