Oof. I feel this hard.

I'm guilty of this. I've done harmful things during fits of bipolar, mixed with autism and other things. I've hurt people by trying to be forgiven for past issues and not letting go. I can't make things better in some cases. All I can do is try to avoid future issues. But the aftershocks still hurt.
There's some really familial similarities in the faces there. If I'm Mr. Met, I'm asking my dad about his lost weekend in the Twin Cities back in the day.
I grew up hearing "God helps those who helps themselves." But if you've ever read the gospels--or really any deistic holy book--the lesson is God helps those who desire to help others.
They may not have faith in God but they want to have faith in you. We're all in this together.
You're saying through God, all things are possible? But it's just not possible he can give you what you need to help them?
If you want them to remain hopeful, you have to show them you remain hopeful.
They feel abandoned. Telling them you hope something unknown helps them means less then telling them you don't know how to help them but you hope you can find a way.
People of faith: you know what means more to your atheist friends then telling them you're praying for them? Tell them that you pray God gives you the strength and wisdom and tools to help them.
Did AI make that graphic? 😉
You know that Simpson episode where Herbert Powell lets Homer, his half-brother, design a car and it absolutely ruins him? I think about that a lot.
This is also a beer industry post.
Beer is losing and their largest industry trade association is still throwing out press releases saying consumers care about things they clearly don't.
I just watched a bartender with a Fuck Racism t-shirt pour a pint of Founders All Day just now. Not kidding. Go to Frenchmans right now.
The idea that your average beer consumer cares about who owns their favorite brewery and their values, much less their "independence" is so out of touch.
None of that "reflects consumer demand."
You can't advocate for an industry with your head in the sand.
Beer is losing out to RTDs in adult beverage market share and we continue pushing increasingly nebulous distinctions within beer to claim wins. And the more we act like consumers value independence when neither we nor the consumer can define that term is silly.
And I'm old enough to remember when the BA didn't consider Yuengling craft. That was what, only 12 years ago?
If growth is *dependent* on a JV with Molson Coors, it is definitionally not *independent*. Or make MC craft and watch the market share really soar!
The largest craft brewery according to the BA themselves is Yuengling, who has a joint venture with Molson Coors. The fact that we are still segregating "craft" in the year of our lord two thousand twenty six is downright silly. Beer should compare themselves ro RTD cocktails.
And that can easily be spun to imply that is consumer-driven.
Heck, a week ago, the BA said this: "Craft’s share of the beer market by volume increased slightly from 13.2% to 13.3%, reflecting continued consumer demand for independent brewers despite overall category declines."
A surveying error in NC between Lincoln and Catawba counties resulted in a border misdrawn. As a result, last year several parcels of land swapped counties when this was rectified. No one actually physically moved, but their county of residence changed.
This is a craft beer market share post.
I've named mine Carl.

You wanna see a huge shift in craft's market share? Just redefine who you consider craft. Maybe the most misleading statistic that continues to plague the beer industry.
This time next year, the BA is gonna use barrelage from Stone and others sold off by non-craft companies as an indicator craft grew in 2026. The shell game we continue to play is amusing.
Firestone is owned by Duvel. It will just be operated as a Firestone subsidiary.
It's peace talks day and the president is watching television.

Your regular reminder that cops don't actually justify their existence or enormous budgets by solving much crime.
Approximately 11% of all serious crimes result in an arrest, and about 2% end in a conviction.
And then there's this...
I once lived a quarter mile from the UPS Distribution Center and watched my package go from Mpls to Shakopee to Rogers and then back to Mpls.
For fuck fucking sake.
Are we EVER gonna get past this?
