Right Here, Still This poem challenges the idea that survival has to look heroic or dramatic. It reframes it as something quiet and often invisible, but still powerful—choosing to remain, even without recognition. Right Here, Still I thought survival would be louder— a speech, an anthem carved into the sky. But it’s this— a body in a chair, a breath that didn’t quit, a moment that held. No one applauds this part. No headlines for staying. Still— here I am, unremarkable and undefeated, in the smallest second imaginable, and still here.

We spend so much time hoping for tomorrow we forget to live today.
