Obrigado por este homenagem prestado ao nosso professor!
Oh, you think they have a grasp of high medieval history? I would be they do, given all of the tattoos on the "secretary of war."
To be a Catholic is to hold many (apparently) contradictory notions...
New old friends!
Ripped up the basement carpet and found a shuffleboard court! What adventures await?

Is this for people outside of PSU? The link only goes to a university sign in page
Judge you? You are to be commended for adding that dog to the tour! Well done!
I've had an idea for a long while to write something about the attempts to "reform" the Syro-Malabar Christians living adjacent to the Portuguese fortresses in the late 16th-early 17th centuries. But now is not the time for me to go back down that path, alas.
OK, so conferences give 15-20 minutes per paper. That's not enough time to give the background, much less the findings. Well timed, sure, but polished in that span?
Thank you, Bruce!
Making new friends despite the frigid temperatures!
Ah, that's the difficult part. Alas, I'm not a musicologist, I'm sure they have great ideas about this. I, unfortunately, use music as a sidelight in broader lessons about culture. Good luck!
If you're working on the continent, use the recordings of Jordi Savall, they're easily accessible (not to mention excellent). He's got a wide repertoire of Iberian, Mediterranean, and Italian music from the 15th-16th centuries. I use Io Visto lo Mappamundi when I teach the culture of discovery.
Well, I'd say the human experts, but I did hear Jeremy Black saying something dumb... You, me, and Ângela were right on the money, though!
I trust you! But I confess that I hated it. Whoever wrote the script used completely outdated material (School of Sagres, anyone?), and the graphics are totally barfy. I got the impression that they really didn't know what they were doing. So glad they didn't show me saying anything embarrassing!
Oh, nice baroque pearls you got there.
I didn't know you were in it, too. Now I want to watch it (I wasn't sure before...hopefully I'm not too embarrassing!)
Starting another semester, year 24 that I've been at this. Time to do a little sowing, as it says on the Beaumont Tower here on campus.
Still the most uplifting Christmas carol, 40+ years running!
The cookie making madness is nearing an end, 21 varieties this year!
No, it's the mortgage industry complex. Tax code is a fig leaf for the fact that you get robbed of 40% or more of your home's value in interest.
Thanks for the recommendation, this was great!

I wrote a short tribute to my friend and mentor, Jurgis Elisonas (aka George Elison), known to many scholars for his work on early modern Japan. He is sorely missed! www.asianstudies.org/in-memoriam-...
I hope you meet Fred, he’s so nice!
Friends, please consider adding your name to this robust statement in defense of higher education and academic freedom: actionnetwork.org/forms/oregon...
Fred loves you, too!
My children are in their 20s and we still can’t donate any of their treaures. Good luck!
