Delighted to hear that Shroud is up for best novel in this year's Hugos - www.lacon.org/hugofinalists/ - hell of a slate this year. The game category in particular has Silksong, Blue Prince and Clair Obscur going head to head, among others.

Well deserved, as always.
Congrats to you both! It's good that you're not competing against each other in the same category, too! π
Get an anthology and go and support a good cause. I'll be chipping in for sure.
Man oh man I'd sell my soul to be able to write:
Beastars (I love it, don't @ me)
John Carter/Barsoom
Titanfall
And of course thanks to @gollancz.bsky.social for sending them to me!
@gillianredfearn.bsky.social
@johnj.bsky.social
My author copies of Wolfskin have arrived! All three books in my first trilogy are home, safe and sound.
Hard to describe the feeling. But it is definitely one of immense joy.π
I weep for the future.
I hate Al and I refuse to use it Peter, if you don't use Al a bunch of super rich men will lose a lot of money I already said I hated Al Harry, you don't need to sell it to me
I'm less and less interested in being interviewed, these days.
I think it's of limited interest for anyone to have me nattering about myself for an hour.
I'd much rather talk about something cool and interesting, and attract readers that way, through a mutual interest outside of my books.
So, I've just had a book come out, so I'm gonna go and ask "Can I come on your podcast?"
Not to talk about MY books, necessarily, but other cool things tangentially related like books/art/writing craft/aliens. Or anything, really.
Happy to be invited, or take recommendations!
Everyone EXCEPT Dorothy are spiders in trenchcoats?
And this is the soundtrack?

Let me guess: Dorothy is three spiders in a trenchcoat?
Project Hail Mary healed something in me. What a spectacular, dazzling gem of a film.
Today I swung by UNSW, the uni where I studied Creative Writing and Film Studies a decade ago, hoping to have my work published one day, only to find copies of Wolfskin on the uni bookshelf stores.
All copies were left signed of course.
Feels good to have come full circle.
I've seen how tall Andy is. You ain't got no chance, boy.
I will bring the popcorn.
Hey! Congratulations! That is awesome. Can't wait to read it.
Some extremely exciting news to finish off the week! I canβt wait to work with @solarisbooks.bsky.social and @alrutter.bsky.social to bring SHARDS OF STARLIGHT to you in Fall 2027!
I'm talking about my fellow creatives, who are my peers. Not my readers.
Whenever I get asked for marketing advice, my answer always is: don't approach your peers with the mindset of "What can you do for me."
But rather, go with: "What can we do for each other?"
Find your people. Support the hell out of each other.
That way, maybe we'll all survive the industry!
HOLY MOLY
I asked to keep it, but they wouldn't let me. Infection concerns, they said...
I mean, if it's gotta get yanked out anyway...
I should really post a link: www.amazon.co.uk/Final-Archit...
Thanks man!
I did actually have a bone removed (the pisiform bone). More for chronic pain than for the sake of publicity.
Even I am not *that* insane. Probably.
Wow. That's extraordinarily kind of you, Sean. Appreciate it.
