CDC actually cannot come in and claim jurisdiction during a response- they have to be requested to assist by the public health department. And every state’s public health system is different.
Most people don’t know that public health is largely handled by state agencies. I didn’t until a couple of years ago! The CDC provides support and guidance (and a lot of money) but the work is largely governed by the states.
Perhaps it will have no plot to balance the many plots of the first one (I say that with love, I think it’s an amazing movie).

Also, I went to a smaller satellite event this time, and every single speaker emphasized that protesting shouldn’t be the only thing you do. I learned about some groups and events that I had never heard of before, and got info about organizing in my neighborhood.
No Kings is not perfect (what is?) but today I saw little kids and folks in their 90s out protesting. It’s a balm to the soul, really.

The African crested rat (Lophiomys imhausi) is a rabbit-sized rodent with patterned coat.
