new pages have a bit of a delay at the moment, but I’ll be posting them as soon as I can. dealing with the font situation (procreate taking away the one font I use for everything, including this comic), and busy with some irl stuff right now, but the work is continuing 👍

a bit later than intended, but the next page is nearly ready. i’ve also been working a lot on the writing for this story, which has been a lot of fun. glow party is the first thing i’ve written since i was in high school, and it has successfully gotten me back into writing <3
also the examples (uncolored ones) of the features here aren’t the ONLY kinds my characters might have. like a character could have horns that I haven’t drawn in the horn category or different amounts of eyes, etc. I just wanted to draw as many examples as I could reasonably fit on the canvas
and yes, the physical features in this world DO have an impact on a character’s life (just like irl) although it won’t be mentioned much in the actual comic. example: most shirts/tops in this universe are made for people with 2 arms, making it a bit difficult for people like peach to find clothes
world building? in MY glow party?
yeah! world building stuff. certain features in my characters are more common than other features in this world. some bodily/facial features on these lists don’t belong to any current GP characters, but WILL belong to new characters in future chapters.
ok wow the difference between the first bedroom I drew in this comic vs the most recent bedroom I drew is nuts. I had quite literally no idea what I was doing when I started glow party and it’s so cool to see the progress i’ve made :)
thursday’s page won’t be ready this week as I haven’t been feeling well, but the new pages will continue next week 👍

also glow party is SO close to 100 pages! makes me so happy and excited to see that this comic I care so much about is about to be in the triple digits
I’ve never actually mentioned it, but the way saffron talks… saying “yall” and “ain’t” and generally sounding kind of southern, is very purposeful. I write his dialogue EXACTLY the same way I talk irl. actually it’s harder for me to write for the characters that DONT have southern accents 😭
- and I miss that house every day. designing + drawing saffrons house, inspired by the house I lived in, has been really fun. saff’s house plays a big part in this story and i’m happy to finally be showing it off :)
adding onto this ⬆️ I loved that house very dearly. it no longer exists but it always felt warm and sunny and we always had family visiting and I loved it very much. the windows in roses/peachs bedroom are in the same position my windows were in my childhood bedroom. I lived there until I was 7-
page 92! i love how the bedroom turned out. this page took a while but it turned out pretty cute imo. honestly the main inspiration for saffron’s house, including this bedroom, is my childhood house where it was cozy and the sun glowed through the windows <3 i wanted his house to have a similar vibe

page 90! pretty happy with how this page turned out. I think it’s the most detailed comic page I’ve drawn in a while. so glad I get to show y’all the inside of the house now

also I fixed the color mode issue I was having with this chapter. also started adding lighting in a slightly better way (different brush). changed the way I draw the stripes on rose’s shirt too. constantly trying to make the comic look nicer :)

this is the old one btw. heres a lil side by side of the old vs new cover. I really like the dark moodiness of the new one. the stars look better now too :)
whipped up a new cover for the comic fury site. it’s pretty similar to the old one, but I think it’s a little cleaner looking
the timer thing works really well for me because it gets me to actually START drawing (which is where I have trouble sometimes), and then, because I’m in the zone, I typically continue drawing after the hour is up. really glad i’m finally gonna be sharing this comic with yall again
bleh. finally started to get out of the slump i’ve been in and im actually making progress on the comic. started doing this thing where I set a timer for an hour and just try to focus on drawing the comic for just an hour. idk why but it helps with motivation. should have a couple new pages soon :)
working on the rest of chapter 4 and ALSO working on chapter 5 of glow party at the same time 😭 excited to be drawing candy and fizz again though! working on the line art currently <3
if any of these lore drawings look a little rough… shh. i didn’t actually do line art on these. just cleaned up the sketches a bunch and changed the color to my normal line art color.
