rural here means if you're lucky the Dollar General is open until 10

He lives in Culpeper, which to say he lives in rural America, but it's that peculiar sort of East Coast "rural" where your county only has 24,000 people, but you're 30 miles from the nearest Costco & & 70 miles from the National Mall
Coming from a man in his mid-30s whose pfp is a painting of a tabby cat making a concerned face while drinking tea, this might not seem like a big difference, but I assure you it makes all the difference in the world
Well, yeah, if that's your definition of who's Virginia, & who's a hostile occupier, you're gonna have a bad time, Mr. "Man in his mid-30s with a chibi Habsburg pfp"
I do think it's very easy to make sense of the results of this election as how voters in a given district vote in the knowledge that they are effectively gaining or losing representation. Can't blame Republicans for fighting back. Glad to see them lose. Hope to God they see reason.
*seeming last minute change of heart
It's like saying that a hungover student "chickened out" on a term paper by asking for an extension on Sunday evening.
Trump never has a plan more than 24 hours in advance. This is like "TACO" in that it means that he changes a lot of bad plans with a seeming last minute, but it's actually just that he didn't have a plan until the past 24 hours, & he still doesn't have a plan past tomorrow. The rest is theater.
A few pieces of sliced Italian bread, spread liberally on both sides with margarine & garlic powder, then stuck together like a book & baked in aluminum foil for 20 minutes at 350°
Marriage is making your wife's horrifying family recipe for garlic bread every time you make spaghetti
I support making "The Standing Offer" a Wikipedia page
This is true now. If Democrats could redistrict out their opponents without losing any votes, that might not stay true. I would like it to stay true.
Honestly, I like that nakedly partisan maximalism loses votes & I hope it pushes both sides to a reconciliation. We could do a federal redistricting law that makes all this stupidity stop, we just have to agree to it
you love to see it

World Central Kitchen has paid a price in blood above anything Molly Shah ever did or would ever do for Gazans
What we need is a cultural shift among the sophisticated away from reasoned, pleasant argument, to well-founded & unapologetic philippic. Al Franken won a Senate seat with his barbs. The conservative book industry runs on hate. Surely we have many fine souls ready & prepared to read them for filth.
If I were Ezra I'd treat this as proof I'm dangerously out of touch with the exact people I'm trying to woo, but real humility don't come easy in those circles
Also on board for that.
Is it crazy that one of the main reasons I want AOC to be the nominee is because I don't want to see the Republicans run a younger candidate than us
never seen a guy's profile captured so perfectly. Might as well have had Houdon carve him in marble
Florida, America's truest self
(there is no way to get his hand out of the pickle jar without letting go of the pickle)
Everyone keeps telling him the war is bad for everyone, so he doesn't understand why no one will help him get what he wants like they usually do. He's doing all he can to quit on his terms. But he does not know how to get his hand out of the pickle jar without letting go of the pickle.
He'd just spent a decade fighting a much larger war directly next door! It almost makes sense
I can accept that as long as they stay home
"Strongly approve" is down to 17%. "Wrong direction" is 72-28. Lots of room to go!
At this rate Trump's going to be so unpopular by November that Obama might get reelected
It is also because Steyer has always taken pains to flatter Bernie
Oh I love a good cusp
