Did some more testing on my stream setup as I was still getting "encoding overloaded" even after reducing my model's resolution by over half, and apparently the issue could be the new Nvidia App that replaces Geforce Experience?? That's the only major change to my setup since yesterday... huh...

Both Raiden 2 and Raiden DX should be no-brainers at this point, their last ports were on PS1, and in the case of Raiden DX, actually pretty damn good, so a modern version would print money. Who knows.

Hopefully reducing the resolution of the texture atlas fixes the issues completely, as the other problem was that it stopped me using an Elgato Facecam I had set up as a handcam for shmup streams, due to the amount of frame drops whenever both of them were active.

I've been having issues with "encoding overloaded" in OBS the past few streams, and I think I've narrowed the issue down to VTube Studio, since rolling both the app and my model back to previous versions seemed to stabilise it.

Checking my current model, the texture atlas res is 8196x16384… hmm…

That's a surprise, especially since we've just bypassed both Raiden 2 and Raiden DX in the series lmao.
Will buy it anyway, huge fan of the game, and finally we have a home port.
