A seating plan with very few available seats.

A seating plan with very few available seats.

Still an epsilon number of seats left for tomorrow night's Big London Show which don't have the view blocked by a safety rail.

That said: I promise to move around the stage so much that no one rail can block me for long. lwtheatres.co.uk/whats-on/mat...

Matt Parker | Standup Mathematician - Shows Matt does super-nerdy shows all around the world. His calendar of performances is below but you should also check out Festival of the Spoken Nerd and An Evening of Unnecessary Detail.

Tour sales are going well! Shows are not until October but 24% of all tickets are gone. Watch out if you're in Swindon: that show is over half sold; Leeds and North Finchley both > ⅓ gone. standupmaths.com/shows/

Close up of a Matt’s hand holding a sharpie pen.

Sorry I stole someone’s sharpie! An audience member at Wednesday’s show brought it for me to sign their calculator and were too polite to say anything when I absentmindedly put it in my pocket. It’s mine now.

This is in Melbourne by the way. Probably should have mentioned that.

That’s the kind of slick promo which sold us out in the first place.

I don’t understand how not doing this is even an option, assuming trucks follow classical physics.

Or maybe that is the problem and the sign was too small for “trucks - despite the name, please don’t quantum tunnel through the tunnel”.

For some reason our dog loves trains. Not only does she try to drag me to the station so she can go for a ride, whenever one passes is she will stop and watch it.

Nine Lessons for Melbourne with Matt Parker | Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Melbs! I'll be visiting your Comedy Festival for one night only, with @doctorkarl.bsky.social and other unannounced guests. 16 April 2025, The Capitol. Assuming Australia is ready for me and Dr Karl on the same stage. www.comedyfestival.com.au/browse-shows...

Because 2025 = 45² and 45 is a triangle number, we get these lovely sums:

2025 = (1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9)²
2025 = 1³ + 2³ + 3³ + 4³ + 5³ + 6³ + 7³ + 8³ + 9³

Pleasingly the next triangle number 55 is 10 more, so get ready for a repeat of this fact in the year 3025.

Why 1980 was a great year to be born... but 2184 will be better
Why 1980 was a great year to be born... but 2184 will be better YouTube video by Numberphile

Get ready for the squarest year of our lifetimes! 2025 = 45² and we don’t get 46² until the year 2116.

AND, as a 1980 birth, I’ll get to turn 45 during the square year. I’ve been looking forward to this since when I still had hair. youtu.be/99stb2mzspI?...

Today is my 14π birthday! So this is a reminder that whenever you turn a multiple of 22 you also turn a very-close-to-multiple of π.
