Or rewarded with jobs in ICE.
Grandfathers, uncles, both parents, and my brother served. We are right now grateful that my one nephew is definitely not in the shape the military would want, but worried about the other. π€πΌ No draft, please, because he would absolutely be taken. Even my brother doesn't want him to serve.

Happy 80th birthday to Tim Curry who has always, *always* understood the assignment.
I like the idea. Is there a suggestion area on Donors Choose? I've never really had the money to do much on there.
Also, if people have the cash and the inclination, boxed birthday cake mixes and frosting are good ideas for food pantry donations.
Ooh, there's a YouTuber who makes videos about that! She's awesome. She gives good ideas for low-price alternatives to food that is becoming a bit pricey right now.

These incredible Buff Tip Moths blend in so well with branches that you might mistake them for sticks. Nature's masters of disguise are truly fascinating!
Agreed. I really think most men would be allies if they were made to feel it wouldn't violate some BS masculine ideal. If they realized what we go through, I have to *hope* they'd be supportive and not predatory. Also, it would help destigmatize assaults *they* suffer so they'd get help and report.
One thing I love about Star Trek TNG is how many of the characters have their own hobbies
Picard has Shakespeare and archeology and horseback riding
Riker plays jazz
Worf practices martial arts
Data writes poetry and paints
Beverly and Troi do yoga
It adds a lot of depth to the characters
That was what the safety officers at my college told us when I was 18 years old in my first semester. All of us girls in the dorm had a safety talk that the boys weren't included in. I wish they had been so they'd have to hear what we had to worry about.
He'll probably be buried on one of his golf courses like they did with Ivana, so they can try again for a tax break.
Reading a book and snacking. I have a ton of clearance Easter candy and I'm eating Schar's version of Saltines instead. Nothing on them, just straight out of the package. Yes, I am a weirdo.

Instead, we're told we have to stop our zoomies about the time we enter kindergarten or first grade. And they wonder why we stim and wriggle. π€·πΌββοΈ
Kind of reminds me of a post I read somewhere that a bunch of neighbors ended up flying the flags of the various Trek groups: Federation, Klingons, Romulans, Borg. Maybe even the Ferengi? π€ It's been a while.

I've just spent way too many hours over two days making a municipal meeting schedule for my county so I can have evidence to back up a petition I want to write. I need to get a busier life with something other than politics and crafts to occupy myself. π

My mom's church doesn't have GF hosts. Tonight she had Communion at a different church for the first time in about 15 years and cried because she felt truly part of her faith for the first time in years.

Beautiful story of a man bonding with a robin.
Yep, I officially want that house.
Reid Wiseman on #Artemis II: "We have Earth out window 4 and Moon out window 3... the Moon is about 3-4 times the size of the Earth and it is almost full, and the Earth is just a small crescent out there... it's magnificent... such a majestic view out here"
Mission Control: "Amaze, amaze, amaze!"
Some discussion on Artemis II broadcast about how dark the Moon is compared to Earth. Here's a really nice look at the two together from the same camera -- the Moon isn't white, it's dark brown www.planetary.org/space-images...
The NASA #Artemis II tracking website: www.nasa.gov/missions/art...
It includes a nice moveable visualization of the Moon, the spacecraft, the Sun, and the Earth, so you can get a feel for the relative positions of them all.
I've fallen into cozy fantasy and random litRPG. There's so much going on in the world that they make a nice palate cleanse from reality.
That's interesting. I've read a ton of non-narrative nonfiction that made me feel for the subjects. I wonder if it depends on the subject or the author.
