I've taken my vacation week off starting that day (including this year), and it ain't stopping.
Fuck work, our lives are more important (especially nowadays, with how companies and our capitalist elites are acting rn).
In other words: Nothing worth bitching about in the first place, and it's not like you can't/could never find anything else in the animation world.
Tbh I always thought the bean mouth thing was just a trend much like many other animation trends since the beginning of animation itself (i.e. the rubber hose vibe of the 20's-30's, the choppy look of the late 50's-60's, the pseudo-anime vibe of the 2000's, etc,.).
Side note: I forgot how absolutely bizarre this show was given the movie it was based off of (fairly... I guess, grounded in a movie about animated talking lions kinda way vs. this show). I sometimes wonder how little me never questioned it, either. 😭

Especially when the arguments about content in media has been used more and more (especially lately) as an excuse for fascistic control/suppression and as a distraction from the real big shit going on in the world (i.e. actual pedos in our governments, leadership and elite), this just reeks of BS.
School/mass shootings, hardcore drugs (especially opioids), lack of good third spaces, poor infrastructure, dying towns, climate change, poor education & reading levels, a shitty internet, an uncertain future, high cost of living plus an increasingly low likelihood of home-ownership...
Tbh I'm usually hesitant to see teens reading stuff like this myself (some pedos have used stuff like it to groom kids, not that the art itself is at fault), but dang, compared to so much other shit affecting teens alone rn, this is pretty low on my give-a-fuck list at this point.
