Inside Bucharest’s Accidental Urban Wilderness In Romania’s capital, a failed communist-era megaproject has become a template for a new generation of “natural parks” that offer room for wildlife and people.

India is inaugurating its first “red road” to save wildlife, and the trick is not fences or speed cameras, but a surface that forces drivers to slow down almost without realizing it. India tests a red road that subtly slows drivers to protect wildlife, pairing smart design with crossings and fencing for safer highways

Why did the tiger (not) cross the road - My news to me good news for April 17 (and it's not just about paint) #EarthOptimism www.ecoticias.com/en/india-is-...

Australian home battery installations equal to almost 10 pct of global utility capacity brought online in March Here's a stat to blow your mind. Australian households are installing batteries equal to 9% of the total storage capacity installed by power companies across the globe.

March 2026:

Australian households matched ~9% of global utility-scale battery additions.

Let that figure sink in.

A country of 27M is competing with the world’s grid builders… from garages.
This isn’t adoption.

It’s decentralisation eating the system. ⚡🔋 #Bettrification

France 🇫🇷 doubles electrification support to €10bn/year through 2030 — EVs, heat pumps, industry.
The reason?

The Strait of Hormuz crisis making fossil fuel dependence impossible to ignore.

Geopolitical shocks don’t just raise prices. They change what’s politically possible.

In France, legislation came into effect recently for all car parks that have over 80 spaces to be covered with solar panels. Estimated to add around 11GW of renewable energy capacity to the national grid. Why not do likewise in Scotland? Braehead, Silverburn, Glasgow Fort etc.

Denmark didn’t “transition” its grid—it replaced it.

~15% → 92% renewable electricity in 25 years.

Wind did the heavy lifting. Solar is scaling. Interconnection balanced. Flexibility solved variability.

Wind built it. Solar is scaling. Fossil lost it.

This IS system replacement. ⚡#Bettrification

There's a lot being shared right now about China's incredible shift towards renewable energy - and rightly so.

But this, from the UK, is equally astonishing & encouraging.

It's not just that change can happen. It's that it *is* happening.
