The Third Man starred Orson Welles but it’s not actually “an Orson Welles film” — it was directed by Carol Reed. #Jeopardy
BREAKING: #SDCC #Hotelpocalypse is set for this Wednesday: sdccblog.com/2026/04/date...
I NEEEEED young YouTubers to cite their sources and credit people. Its SO BAD.
A video covers an entire run of a comic. The YouTuber goes "I like the art it kinda reminds me of Invincible" YEAH BECAUSE THE ARTIST IS RYAN OTTLEY.
you couldn't be bothered?
You are making money of their labor!
Very good article what it would take for AI to have "agency" and self-preservation goals (w/ a few quotes from me).
& I appreciate the reiterated debunking of the "GPT-4 on its own lied to a TaskRabbit worker to solve a captcha" story.

And I love how he’d always say, “The thing of it is, is. . .”
I sometimes wonder how it would feel to have been born other than I am or where I am. Edward Hopper’s paintings make me feel nostalgic for a past I never lived.
I love this! 🎨🖌
British painter, “Phil Lockwood” painted this, he filled every window with an “EDWARD HOPPER” painting.
#Paradise fans: While waiting for season 3, this might be a good time to check out Alex Garland's #Devs (also on #Hulu)
You must picture Sam Altman holding a knife to Tim Berner-Lee's throat. We are in a truly existential level of danger when it comes to the survival of the open web, across every front. This year is when it all comes to a head. www.anildash.com/2026/03/27/e...
“A mood of perpetual disquiet hangs over Nadia’s life, as it does all who live under the eye of a surveillance state.”

George Papoon for President! He’s not insane!
I'll also give a shoutout to the 1980s revival of
'The Twilight Zone' which had a number of outstanding episodes, including "Shatterday", "Wordplay". "To See the Invisible Man", "A Small Talent for War", etc.
Congratulations! Well deserved

"The book’s sharp, isometric illustrations and moody coloring effectively portray the isolation of this world."
Wow. The end of an era, indeed.
Note to self: When replacing the desktop's data drive (D:), be mindful of the top directories' capitalization. Windows doesn't care, but #Adobe #Lightroom can get confused.
I was about to make a snarky comment about my "non-sketchy, wholesome" friends, but I see Tony beat me to it!
Ha! I didn't say I understood it. But -- with some degree of difficulty and lots of trial-and-error (and online help) -- I finally got it working!
Windows 95 IBM Aptiva connected to a Windows 7 Sony Vaio with a 10Base2/T converter
Spent the morning setting up a local network between an old Windows 7 10Base-T/RJ45 system (right) and an even older Windows 95 10Base-2/BNC system (left) and -- lo and behold -- it works!

Speaking of Sun Ra, back in the mid-1970s I hung around (and, at times, cohosted) sessions on WXPN FM. On one such occasion, the Arkestra crammed into a small studio to perform a live, on-air concert. I was one of only three or four people live in the studio with the band. Amazing times.
Throughout his life, Sun Ra's number was listed in the Philadelphia phone book (under "Ra, Sun"). You could call him up and chat! #othernetworks
Think George Crumb's 'Black Angels' is scary? Crank up the audio and play his 'Haunted Landscape' at full volume!

What's so amazing about Jim Henson as a puppeteer is that he could literally be explaining that Kermit is made out of felt and ping pong balls and yet Kermit still feels alive the whole time he's doing it
Also, although we don't hear any of his tracks, President Bradford is obviously a big @brucespringsteen.net fan.
#Paradise
The needle drops in Dan Fogelman's #Paradise are amazing, featuring lesser known covers of hit tunes. Just one example: an episode that included a discussion of 'Rocky III' later featured this haunting version of 'Eye of the Tiger'
