The woman - the myth - the legend. Red Panda was at Georgia Tech today. Amazing!
Exterior picture of my condo in Columbus, Georgia. 1" of snow covers the grass, shrubs, and roof. Sidewalks and street have no accumulation. They're just wet, thank heavens.
Exterior picture from in front of my condo in Columbus, looking down the street. 1" of snow covers the grass, shrubs, and roof. Sidewalks and street have no accumulation. Tree branches also have some snow on them, making for a Georgia winter wonderland.

Snow in Columbus, Georgia. Pretty to look at and not affecting roads right now, so it's all good #gawx
The only bowl game with sprinkles in the end zones.
9:30. NFL Network, which is still available on YTTV (thank heavens).

A screenshot from the Bureau of Labor Statistics's website, showing a picture of Dr. Erika McEntarfer, the former Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics who was unjustly fired from her position on Friday. In the bottom right corner is the date and time display from my computer; the date is 8/3/2025 and the time is 8:12 PM. This is two days after she was fired. You'd think that the US Department of Labor would be more efficient, but I'm glad they aren't.
I am shocked that Dr. McEntarfer's biography is still active on the BLS website. Pleased, actually, but also shocked. #bls
I read recently that Rachel Robinson (Melanie, The Visitor) auditioned for this role. If she had been selected that would have added an interesting dynamic to DS9. In any case, I totally agree and Nicole deBoer brought the character to wonderful life.
So anyway, I've gone to the BLS website and downloaded *all* the wage and salary data I could find. Heaven only knows if it will still be there. Or if it is, if it is reliable.

At the one SHRM conference I attended (Vegas, 2019), I made a point of visiting the BLS booth to thank them for what they do. Their work is invaluable for a compensation practitioner like me. Firing the BLS Director because you don't like the data is foolish. Good grief, that's stupid.
Ok folks, it’s that time of year… brace yourselves for #clearthelist2025!
Teachers, add your list here and I will boost it and work to have others boost it until school starts.
Just because I’m no longer teaching does not mean I’m no longer a teacher. ;)

Georgia already tried this. It didn't work.

A photo of the moon as it rises above the Atlantic Ocean. The moon is in the upper right corner. Palm trees are on the left and a large flowering bush covers the bottom. The sky is a deep blue, appropriate for dusk. Taken from a hotel balcony on Jekyll Island, Georgia USA.

All of the books in this series are wonderful reads, but my favorite is Zoe's Tale. I am *so* looking forward to a new book where the main character will come from that book.
A screenshot of Google search results when I searched for "FLSA Highly Compensated Employee 2025." The AI summary says the annual salary threshold is $151,164, which is incorrect. A US district judge in Texas stopped that in 2024. The US Department of Labor returned to their prior annual threshold, or $107,432.
I'm late to the party. I finally run into a search error from Google AI. It appears that AI doesn't bother to check with federal district judges in Texas. If it had, it would know the HCE test is $107,432. Not that I trusted AI summaries before, but I definitely don't trust them now.
Lego bricks in a pile are labeled as data. Then they are sorted by color and labeled as such. Then they are arranged, then they are lined up, and they are finally assembled into a house. Each image is labeled: Data, sorted, arranged, presented visually, then explained with a story. I know this isn't the best alt text. I just woke up and it's the best I can do.

Thanks so much for this list! I really appreciate it.
More snow in Columbus, this time in the evening.

Thank you Steve! We have a vibrant HR community over at the other place and I am hoping the community becomes just as strong here. Your post has helped me connect with other HR practitioners, which I really appreciate. Thanks!

I know lots of people will remember Tony Todd for Candyman, but I just want to remember his turn as Jake Sisko in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “The Visitor.” His performance as a man who wanted nothing more than to have his father back was moving and tragic. youtu.be/AkhipDIMXmY?...
I *loved* this episode. His performance was spot on. An amazing actor with such range. I'll definitely miss him.
Hello Bluesky! Got my invite so it’s time to transition from the hell site. If you’re in #HR I’d love to follow you. Please let me know your username and I’ll follow you.
