Starting any new project can be scary for me. You're starting over with a blank page.

With each subsequent book, I want to be a better writer. I'm finding out more ways to plot with character arcs in mind. I'm trying to push myself concept-wise.

What's scaring you this Monday?

Monday marks the start of the week and often brings on anxiety about what’s to come.

My #MondayScaries is submission.

To date, I have gone on submission twice. Every time I vomited. It’s tradition at this point. I’m an anxious person to begin with, and this exacerbates it.

Nothing feels as good as a brand-new, exciting plot bunny.

This is why I write!!!

Getting back into drawing. I love using my new Lamy Safari.

Yes, this is all a way for me to manage my anxiety.

What do I worry about? (Fellow authors, you already know and probably struggled with this list as well.)

1. Sales
2. Being a good enough writer
3. Will I sell another book?

I tend to catastrophize the former and minimize the latter.

My dream is to become famous enough to be in a Buzzfeed kittens interview video.

New York City was everything I hoped for. I met my fantastic publishing team, had a Chinatown food crawl, went to my dual book launch at Books of Wonder, and had dinner with beloved friends.

It was a whirlwind trip, and I can’t help but be so grateful to @zandoprojects for everything.
