A close-up of one of the new rooms. It is not going to be easy to get the prize, but extra Max Health is worth it! You can try to fly from top to bottom or use grenades to make the path shorter. Destroying the traps is an option too, just don't spend too much time or the Swarm might get you.. π

Also, now perks can be chosen up to 3 times, unlocking extra effect every time. Here the level for the new perk:
LVL 1 - Every 15th enemy killed, 2 sec invisibility
LVL 2 - Every 12th enemy killed, 2 sec invisibility
LVL 3 - Every 10th enemy killed, 3 sec invisibility and +10%dmg when invisible
We reworked our level-up system, both graphically and by content. We added several new ones that will change the gameplay: for instance here is the new "Assassin" perk.

We are making the finished touches to the first Boss fight of our game! Honestly it feels so exciting. It's hard to beat but not impossible, and closes the game loop perfectly giving purpose to all the previous levels. From next week you can test it too on our discord!

We have a tutorial for our demo! We know tutorial levels should be done last, but we hope a small and quick level will go a long way to teach new players all the basics. Of course we'll revisit it once the game is finished. Someone else used this approach?

What we didn't consider, is that, with an English accent, most people connect ARNIE to Arnold Schwarzenegger π
As much as it was hilarious, this was not intended and ended up being pretty misleading for our audience.
Luckily, we realized not too late, and we're very happy with our current decision!
Our old name was ARNIE: it came from the italian word for "hives", and was a reference of the many alien hive-planets in our game. We got our inspiration from @noitagame.bsky.social, that, for those who didn't know, is a Finnish word that translates to "witch" or "warlock". Such a cool concept!
