Beginning at Times Square (47th & 7th Ave), and walked down to 14th St where we took a left a walked the long blocks to Union Square. I was impressed by the massive amount of elderly folks holding flags and signs the entire way.

It's been almost 2 months since I've done subway sketches but I'm pushing myself to get back into them. Here are three days of beginning again. It feels clumsy and tentative, but it will come back.

Today's protest was for the cruel cut to the national lgbtq+ suicide hotline .. the hotline that has saved over 1.3 million kids from killing themselves.  The administration is shutting it down on Thursday. Tax cuts to billionaires are more important than the lives of vulnerable populations.

This is why I couldn't celebrate Independence Day. Because we aren't.

Thanks to the Women's March for the design. I can't celebrate the birth of our country today because she is in distress.

Although a fave film, I finally saw "Cabaret" on the big screen. With fascism in our country, the last part of the film gutted & left me in tears. The silence in the full theater was deafening, especially with the recent Skrmetti ruling, an ongoing campaign for extermination of a population.

Sunset Park Open Studios begins tonight & tomorrow 1 to 5 pm.
Seeing I'm not up to snuff, I am not opening tonight. But posted a sign on my door that I'll be open tomorrow & will hold ACLU fundraiser.

Due to a lack of sleep, I didn't expect to do a subway sketch today. Halfway through my ride, these two got on the train, a stop apart. I loved the juxtaposition, and it gave me just enough oomph to finger paint.

This weekend's office I haven't written in a while.
