The report’s draft language is unusual for the Justice Department, which typically speaks through legal filings, and examinations of internal policies and procedures normally emerge from the inspector general’s office. www.nbcnews.com/politics/jus...

Dear Chairman Comer: We write in response to the subpoena you issued as Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on March 17, 2026, to then- Attorney General Bondi, which sought her testimony at a deposition scheduled to occur on April 14, 2026. The Committee issued the subpoena to Ms. Bondi in her official capacity as Attorney General, rather than her personal capacity. Indeed, the subpoena is specifically addressed to “Pamela J. Bondi, Attorney General of the United States” and the accompanying cover letter specifically seeks information from her “[a]s Attorney General[.]” Ms. Bondi no longer holds that office. As a result, because Ms. Bondi no longer can testify in her official capacity as Attorney General, the Department’s position is that the subpoena no longer obligates her to appear on April 14. We kindly ask that you confirm that the subpoena is withdrawn. The Department remains committed to working cooperatively with the Committee and continues to believe that additional compulsory process is unnecessary in light of our demonstrated willingness to voluntarily assist your oversight efforts
DOJ: "The Committee issued the subpoena to Ms. Bondi in her official capacity as Attorney General, rather than her personal capacity... Ms. Bondi no longer can testify in her official capacity as Attorney General, the Department’s position is that the subpoena no longer obligates her to appear..."

The NYT published a link to critical original reporting on Iran 45 minutes ago. A good, fair story. They have 53m followers. The engagement metrics you display say they got 94 likes and 33 retweets out of that. Is that accurate? And if so, shouldn't you work on a better algo? Image Nikita Bier @nikitabier It’s paywalled. “If they follow the same agenda of trying to bring these cases, I think, predictably, they’re going to get the same pushback by both grand juries and juries. You can change the person at the top, but the people who are down in the trenches, they’re left with the same situation.”
