Fair! Thanks, Will.

Use of Weapons is one of the best books ever. I think it might be my favourite book of all time.
Copy of Surface Detail by Iain M.Banks
Re-reading this for the first time in ages. It’s not the best of his work, but Banks just proves again that even not at his peak he is better than almost everyone else.

Over on Instagram today I’m talking about my favorite notebook and how it can help someone (like me) who has a hard time filling up or organizing a traditional notebook.

‘You say it took you ten months to write your last book? How did you do that?’ - a great question that I got via Instagram recently. Part of my answer is that speed doesn't matter too much; the result is what counts most. The rest of the answer is this:

Mercy by Danie Ware. Sister of Battle, in full armour, with bolter pointed.
Eight years ago today, my Black Library debut went live.
And I had no idea that MERCY, my original Sister Augusta short, would begin such an epic journey!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of planning, but I now write plans as helpful maps through writing a story rather than a blueprint.
I wouldn’t have planned it as much! I had everything nailed down in advance but that caused me some serious issues when it came to actually writing it.
Round about just now, 15 years ago I was working on my first full length novel - The Lies of Solace, now sadly out of print. I learnt so much writing it. Maybe it’s time to write some cosmic horror again.

Is there anything more fun than an rpg scenario where everyone is chasing dangerous occult artifacts, and the main broker for those artifacts is secretly a ghoul for no particular reason?
