And she has since been deported.

Oh. Shame. Anyway...
I'm in my 50s. 90% of my wardrobe is punk/indie rock shirts. My desk is covered in Fallout and Muppets merch. My walls are covered in Fillmore/Show posters. Like - that is my happy place, and "growing up" doesn't mean I have to abandon what I love. Life's too short to deprive yourself of joy.
I would (and do) respect for someone who says "I had this great idea so I hired people way smarter than me with all the skills I don't have to make it happen" over the "send me two pages of your best code" "I have to sign off on EVERYTHING for I am TeH Geeneeuss" egos getting glorified.
Ed's office pretty much told me he will not be going to DC. Which is the same thing @warren.senate.gov's office said. @whipkclark.bsky.social's office said the same thing, but incredibly rudely.
The MA delegation will only be posting. #mapoli
"A weapon held by an ICE agent apparently discharged a projectile at a nearby civilian"
This ain't it.
No.
she said - and the whole room really seemed to feel this one right in the chest - that Democrat politicians are historically much more concerned with trying not to lose than they are with trying to win, which is the reason for the lack of courage we all feel so acutely and she did explicitly name
she also said that they hear constantly from campaign consultants that the ONLY thing that matters is being anti-Trump, and that the frustrated folks like her pushing back to say "okay yeah but what are we FOR, what are we BUILDING here" are in the minority, which I think we mostly have sensed
"I know! We'll prevent people from traveling to the cities people actually travel to! All international passengers must now visit through Bumblefuck Regional Airfield And Feed Store just south of East Wolfbreath"
Ok - this is entirely beside the point, but my kids have a very good friend who is a trans boy, and the HP I see in that picture looks uncannily like their friend. I hope that this somehow causes JKR some level of discomfort if this skeet ever passes past her.
So she lives in the town I grew up in, and every time I go to visit my parents I both fear and secretly hope that I will run into her at like Stop-n-Shop or [town] House Of Pizza so I can very politely berate her until she cries.
Elizabeth Hurley with giant hair and goth makeup at the Batcave in London in 1984.
Gillian Anderson being Goth and Nerdy perfectly at some point in the late 80s
I am firmly gen x and this ranks on the schwiiiiiiiiiing scale alongside finding out Elizabeth Hurley and Gillian Anderson were 100% People I Would Have Hung Out With And Secretly Lusted After In High School/College
Every time my band has a show, I do not shut up about it. I stand outside bars at closing time with flyers saying "here, recycle this for me"
You absolutely can not be shy about your work.
There are not enough HAHAs in the known universe to appropriately respond to this.
NO! It was Meathook!

Also also, now I am on a frantic search to make sure I did not hallucinate Jawbox covering "Need Myself" from when The Cure was still The Easy Cure
Oh man, I saw them a few years ago, and my wife's friends only knew the "hits" and poppy stuff and they gave us pretty much three hours of beautiful bleakness and I was on cloud 9.
Also, Robert Smith STILL sounds exactly like he did in 1979 and that blows my mind.
I was in 7th grade. One of the teachers in the room always made a big deal of how he was "Former CIA" and oh man his real-time shift into tinfoil hat in front of the combined classes was almost more traumatizing than watching the news loop the explosion repeatedly.
I have taken to occasionally giving my 11 year old not-a-guitarist son an empty patch on my Helix with vague instructions like "just fill it with what you think has the coolest names" and trying to force myself to find a use for them. Chaos is a great way to push through writer's block!
when clinton, obama and biden won the gop response was: we will fight tooth and nail to tear this motherfucker down. we will grind everything to dust to stop him. and their followers got the message.
both times trump won the dem response? "we can work with him on some areas of agreement."
When You Meet a Member of the Ku Klux Klan Robert L. Poston (1921) When you meet a member of the Ku Klux Klan, Walk right up and hit him like a natural man; Take no thought of babies he may have at home, Sympathy's defamed when used upon his dome. Hit him in the mouth and push his face right in, Knock him down a flight of stairs and pick him up again. Get your distance from him and then take a running start, Hit him, brother, hit him, and please hit the scoundrel hard. Pour some water on him, bring him back to life once more Think of how he did your folks in the days of long ago; Make a prayer to heaven for the strength to do the job, Kick him in the stomach, he, a low, unworthy snob. Call your wife and baby out to see you have some fun, Sic your bulldog on him for to see the rascal run. Head him off before he gets ten paces from your door, Take a bat of sturdy oak and knock him down once more. This time you may leave him where he wallows in the sand, A spent and humble member of the Ku Klux Klan.
"Some tone deaf oblivious center right consultants once again do not care what the actual Dem voters think, but think they can raise the most money by propping up yet another ineffectual empty suit" - FTFY.
"Stay and Play" tournaments! Oh, you have points/comps at another nearby hotel? Sorry, you still need to buy a room at the "official" hotel, or your kid can't play.
There is no way to conclude that the @nytimes.com's failure to tell its readers that one of the "skeptics" was a former College Republican leader who is a far right bigot is anything other than intentional. That's such an obvious piece of context that this omission can't be accidental.
It was "collapsed" intentionally by the GOP
"Regardless of what the AMA said, we stand by our reporting which is not what the AMA said, and insist they said what we said they said and not what they said."
(I am happy to lift heavy things such as amps and egos in exchange.)
@shitrock.bsky.social Whatever Ipecac is paying Remy Lamont, it is not enough, as I have currently sent several people down McLusky video rabbitholes that would... not normally be in to such music.
Also, do you have a spare spot on the list for SF? I am currently poor and shameless.
