I didn't watch the show first and I loved the movie.

Drawing of a woman with wings using a severed monster head on a staff to cast a magic blast.
I picked up a sketchbook for the first time in years. I usually use photocopy paper on a clipboard to draw. It's been a nice change. Using a sketch book forces me to sit with drawings more, reworking things that bother me instead of just tossing the page out. I tend to go back and ink more too.
The "I'm stupid I'm stupid" in a child's hand writing is sad :(
These are all amazing, but that parasect *chef's kiss*
Oh yeah, this rules.
One last belated Vampires for Valentine's before March kicks in.
Was it? Shoot! I thought because it was Titmouse it was Flash.
I know Flying Bark used Harmony for Monkie Kids, so I'd bet Rise was Harmony too.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll leave the post up since it's still awesome looking animation :)

I played this game Levers a ton of times. I don't ever remember how I found it. It was fun

This was another crazy thing, Science Saru shared a video with some animation done frame by frame in Animate from Ping Pong the Animation. No idea how or how often they used it, but it looked cool as heck.
I just love plugsuits.

The whole Newgrounds scene. Cartoons (and games!) on the internet, years before YouTube. I don't think it can be understated how much the Flash democratized animation creation and distribution.

And for something more recent the new Tales of the Teenage Ninja Turtles series looks so sick.

Motorcity came out when when I'd been animating in Harmony about for three or four years. It looked so dynamic and fresh. Jeremy Polgar's animation in particular did some really killer work, a good reminder of how much ass talented people could do in Animate.

Having Cartoon Network make a series in Flash by the creator of Powerpuff Girls felt like it legitimized the software. It wasn't the first Flash show, but it felt like the big leagues!
The art direction and writing were also killer.

The Jimmy Swift Band-Turnaround video is my favorite one from Copernicus. I was working low budget preschool show when this came out. I applied to Copernicus for the 4th time and I got hired!
I met my wife working at Copernicus a few years later. Thanks, Flash ;)

Copernicus's music videos, especially those directed by Brad Cayford, were another epiphany. Higher production values and more cinematic than anything I'd seen done Flash at that point.
I can't recall if I saw their Nelly Furtado video for Explode or the Spesh K one first

I saw this when I was in college for animation. 2D was "dying" as feature studios wound down feature production. The design and animation of this video were a breath of fresh air and made me more hopeful about the industry I was hoping to enter.
Seeing a lot of people dunking on Adobe Animate following the news of it's discontinuation. It wasn't perfect, but using it paid my bills for half my career. I'm going to share a few things made in Animate/Flash that were important to me as an animator.
TROGDOR!

Announcing the end of life for Adobe Animate. Thanks for bringing your ideas to life with Animate. Starting March 1, 2026, the app will no longer be available for purchase. Existing Animate customers may continue to use the app. Support will continue for enterprise customers for three years, through March 1, 2029. For all other customers, support will continue for one year, through March 1, 2027. In the future, check out Adobe After Effects for complex keyframe animations and Adobe Express for one-click animation effects that you can easily apply to photos, videos, text, shapes, and other design elements.
I AM FURIOUS.
Adobe Animate remains an industry standard for TV animation. Star Trek: Lower Decks was made in Animate. Haunted Hotel was made in Animate. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was made in Animate.
And because you can't buy a permanent licence anymore, it'll just be gone.

Cleaned up and colored another older drawing. #art
The used to stock it at Parthenon Market on Broadway, and hopefully still do, cause I am almost out. 😬
I've had this happen and it's so frustrating. I'm supposed to toss working hardware and buy a new one because the drivers is out of date? It's wasteful and expensive.

I watched it a while ago and loved it. Amazing to get such a candid look into the inner workings of an ambitious artistic collaboration.
The new lead designer coming from a different studio culture and Tim being absent trying to find a new publisher was such an unfortunate fluke of timing.
Not only a perfect denouement, it was the end of an era. Thirty years ago today, this strip was published.
I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathies, that is tragic.
Happy Birthday!
I hope checkers wins!
