Image from Michael Gardner's capstone science paper modeling a Ruben's tube
My first physics simulation created this frequency response. The of red and green are similar to the science paper, but there isn't any resonance frequencies shown as thin red lines.
I added reflections to the simulation and now you can see vertical lines where standing waves have formed. They're kinda square though, not thin vertical stripes.
My current simulation. It's not quite the same as the science paper, but it's pretty close! It's got all the basic shapes necessary at least. My tube is longer than theirs, so it's not exactly apples to apples. It's got the arced quieter lines, and the resonant vertical frequencies.
I'm building a simulation of a Ruben's tube for a project. The first image is from a science paper, the next 3 images are my physics engine getting closer and closer to being accurate! github.com/danner/heatwave
