Namesake!! Hope you’re well! 1) Ups and Downs of the Star Trek shows (all of em); take your time a reveal Trek to a we fan base. 2) 10 times ST ideas were used elsewhere 3) 10 times Trek poached ideas. I have more ideas, but duty (work) calls!

Happy Friday Namesake
Namesake. Saw your video announcement. Heard and felt your frustration and pain. I, too, had high hopes for Academy. History always looks back on early cancelled Star Trek shows with appreciation and regret—including TOS. We grieve, and we hold on to hope. Stay the course. We need you all. :)
@seanferrick.bsky.social Namesake! One of the things I appreciate most about you is not just our love for Star Trek and DS9 especially, but your ability to lie to yourself. 🤣 We waited 30 years for that Academy episode. I knew it would be the Dilithium Up of the season. Ya tried. WE ALL CRIED!
I watched this clip ten times. Listen, watched, Armageddon Bruce Willis single-tear cried. The Emissary of the Prophets himself, Captain Benjamin Lafayette Sisko! 💙
@seanferrick.bsky.social Namesake!! The homage to my/our/so many us…our favorite Star Trek show!! SPOILERS! I cried. To honor DS9, Avery Brooks, Capt. Sisko, and bring back Cirroc Lofton!!!! And the ending! I’m watching UPS and Downs now. Loved this ep, and Emissary as a hopeful frame!!! 😍😭
Please leave Minnesota. You’re causing more harm than good. Your lies are doing real harm to people. Untrained, unrestrained ICE agents, please leave.
Thank you. History does not repeat but it does rhyme. It is surreal to see how quickly our norms have eroded in a year. It’s horrible but need a mirror held up to us. We need to change, confront racism, all the isms, and be true to our principles of equality and freedom for all. #WeShallOvercome
In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.
He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.
At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.
Wael died on Friday at age 30.
ICE caused his death.
They didn’t get to say goodbye.
How is it possible in each generation, we have immediate fans and enemies when shows start hit the love grows as time passes? That is a strange cycle. #StarTrek @startrekfamily.bsky.social
Also, I’ve been thinking. No Trek show was well received when it first came out, correct? Nana Visitor said to give DS9 1-2 decades and it would make sense. She was right—it’s now seen as the best Trek. Is it possible Trek has two fan groups: sci-nerds and sci-fi nerds of culture?
@seanferrick.bsky.social Namesake! Greetings from Frozen Texas! 1. Not only our names and love of Trek, but I, too, suck at basketball. This bBack man has no bball skills, either. 🤣 2. Lived your review this week. Solid episode and the principle?? Not leading with fear. I hope it is heard.
Namesake!! My goodness!! It was incredible!! The ep and your review. I loved the mirror to the US in this episode. I hate what is happening my country, a lot of us do. We are afraid, but we are determined to live out our best ideals and confront injustice. This episode and show are TIMELY!!!
Namesake!!! Thank you!!! Best news all day!!!!
“Donald Trump is a man who represents all the things we teach our children not to be. He’s a liar. He’s a thief. He’s a molester. He has no remorse, no shame, no empathy. He has no loyalty to the law, to the Constitution. This man is the lowest character of all.”

You and @elittlechild.bsky.social always balance being fans with truth-telling. Third, For the “Cause,” not the Uniform. :)
As usual, grateful for your voices and insights into the world of Star Trek. Waving at you both from this side of pond.
listening to you, you are correct: this is an episode, not a documentary. It doesn’t rule explain Starfleet & Ortegas’ brother isn’t the one to tell the story. Your journey in the video is a big reason why I watch Trek Culture.
@seanferrick.bsky.social Namesake!! First, who stole your bike, bro? You went IN this week on SNW. 🤣 Second, I liked this episode, in terms of story, plot, and characters. The notion of the Federation being empire is fascinating and I’m glad they took a first attempt at it. However…
My goodness! This is a tough one!
TNG: Measure of a Man
DS9: Duet
VOY: Living Witness
They are all layered and just good story-telling. No politics in those at all. 😳🤣
This…thank you for this reminder. I’ve been saying “If Obama…” but the fact is, he didn’t and wouldn’t. He will go down as the last president before it descended into complete chaos with 45/47. 🤦🏽♂️
@seanferrick.bsky.social @elittlechild.bsky.social TrekCulture heroes and sheroes! Namesake, this is what they are doing to Spock!!! He’s on the Kirk Plan to being a Seasonal Heaux! It’s it even Pon Farr time! 🤣 Had to share! Hope y’all are well.
No worries and forgive the typos. Siri hates me. 🤣
Are not in yet? If so, I can tag them and you.
@seanferrick.bsky.social Namesake! I sit my wine out on the floor laughing at you and the sheer DISGUST on your face from saying “Spike” and yet another Buffy reference. 🤣🤣 My friends can tell when is start binging Trek again because everyone becomes a Captain. Just waving! Thanks for all you do!
@elittlechild.bsky.social Yes! Yes Ellie!! Love this! youtu.be/vaeXkzuKiqw?... Great job as always! Keep namesake, aka @seanferrick.bsky.social, on his Vulcan toes!!
A graphic reading "25 books by Black Canadian authors to read in honour of Emancipation Day" by CBC Books. 5 books are featured.
Today is Emancipation Day in Canada, across the Caribbean, and other regions - marking the day slavery was abolished in the British Empire. My book, The Book of Possibilities, has been featured on a few Emancipation Day reading lists, and I'm grateful!
Lemme tell y'all a bit about the day:
5. But I think are really trying to hold a mirror up to us and invite us to do better. In any case, your, Tom’s and Ellie’s commentaries on WTHJH are amazing!! Thanks fam! My goodness. I wrote a dissertation. 🤦🏽♂️🤣 Clearly a fan of @trekculture.bsky.social and the team!
4. The US is very divided and I think they swung for the fences explaining what Trek is to remind Americans of what unity, not division, can look like. Yes, Trek speaks to broad audiences and it is myopic and selfish to think that speech was just about the US—and I know it’s not.
