I agree, and what we know changes over time, but that said, we could not have had a covid-19 vaccine available decades ago because we had never seen that virus before...and nothing I could say was going to change their absolute belief that they knew the truth and I was just wrong.

‼️ there is an emergency occupation of Wes Streeting’s office taking place this evening in response to the puberty blocker ban being made permanent. If you can, go up there to stay overnight. Bring supplies, pass on the message‼️

Someone told me "they" had the covid vaccine for decades, yes even before covid was a thing, whilst telling me they knew more about vaccines than I did (they never did a degree, ai briefly worked on meningitis vaccine research 😅), not sure how helpful being open will be against conspiracy theorists.

Earlier this year I started back up by going back to books I loved before, but now Im back to struggling to get into any book.

You're probably right, I need to give myself time, I'm not always very good at being patient with myself.

I did, however, buy a number of new comics and graphic novels recently at Malta Comic Con so might try those as a way to get back into reading again. 😁

I'm not anti audiobook and think they are great for some people, but I find them really off-putting. I will listen to radio plays but not podcasts or audiobooks for some reason. I also hate instructions given in video format, maybe it's something about listening to the person telling me what to do.

That's so true, I used to always finish a book if I started it, took me a long time to realised I didn't *have* to do that. If it is actively difficult to read for whatever reason I can stop, I can always go back to it later if it's something I want to read but just didn't have the spoons at first.

As a child I read 4 or 5 books a day, as an adult it was 1 a day, then after mum died I stopped reading for years. I started again but something changed & I struggle to read for weeks at a time.

How do my fellow book nerds deal with reading burnout? I guess it might be #autistic #burnout #BookSky

Hello! I just posted my first post too, and now my discovery feed is full of people doing the same.

It's wild. There's so many of us 🤪

That is just lovely.

I think I might like it here a lot more.

Starting over from scratch after leaving Xitter...my feed is barren, brightside, I can try and curate it better than I did before...and likely fail miserably as my attention flits from new shiny to new shiny all over again.
