Really nice piece on, as you say, a really underrated driver. Interesting hypothesis that there are drivers that fade from memory and others that are elevated by the media. There's a whole debate there.

Vince Clarke is right up there as one of the stalwarts of British music for a good twenty years.
Those sneaky shits
An orange boxy character drawn in pencil, biro, marker, pastel and ink
Times are tough so I've put a load more of my children up for sale. Mixed media original drawings in pencil, biro, marker, pastel and ink on heavy craft paper. www.ebay.co.uk/usr/happytoast
Front and back cover of The Maya Mysteries DVD. It's a fake. Don't panic.
Inside cover of The Maya Mysteries DVD featuring synopses of all fifteen episodes that Andy spent an afternoon dreaming up for his 'This Is A Fake' book and didn't use in the end.
Currently watching an episode of The Maya Mysteries - a spin-off from Space 1999 featuring that cosmic princess of outer space who can turn into animals. Catherine Schell and Leslie Nielsen starred in this dreadful ITC pot-boiler that even G**** A******* had his name removed from it. Utter bilge.
OK for fun: top funniest tweet ever? I am torn between "moon's haunted" and "Denise I was at your wedding."
Surely Iโm not the only one who thinks this whenever they see a map of The Strait Of Hormuz on the news?
I've gone down a proper rabbit hole with the score. The Ostinato track starts off like some of the music Hans Zimmer used in the Dark Knight Rises.
This is really rather good. Very well researched and evidenced.
If students are taught about the value of using 'AI' for research and planning then it can be a useful exercise. If viewed as a shortcut then they will find themselves in trouble when trying to write essays in exams. I use it for some model answers but I'm teaching not sitting a GCSE in summer.
I'll echo earlier compliments. Precise, sound replies to some very emotional, often smug, understandable, but wrong, sentiments.
Reposting this because I spent ages drawing Rick's dance moves, filling in the background, layering the mic and Morty, animating his eyes, etc etc
[Scene is a TV news DEBATE FORMAT like Newsnight or Laura K. In the studio, NIGEL FARAGE is a guest on one side, and the GOVERNOR OF THE BANK OF ENGLAND is the other guest.] 1 FARAGE: It's simply outrageous! 2 FARAGE: Replacing Sir Winston Churchill on the ยฃ5 note with a badger is woke madness. 3 BANK OF ENGLAND GOVERNOR: Mr Farage, I can assure you that I and my colleagues at the Bank of England have listened to your concerns, 4 GOVERNOR: And we have gone to great length to ensure that the badger is, in fact... 5 GOVERNOR: ...Anti-woke. [The ยฃ5 note appears on the screen behind him. It shows a badger, with a black military cap on its head - looking suspiciously like a Nazi SS officer's cap.] 6 [Beat of Nigel Farage reacting silently to the image on screen] 7 FARAGE: The badger is anti-woke. 8 GOVERNOR: Indeed! [Pointing at the design on the screen] If you look down the bottom we've included a quote from him... 9 [Close up of the quote at the bottom of the new ยฃ5 note, which reads]: "It's not racist to be concerned about immigration, Carol" - The Anti-Woke Badger 10 FARAGE: The badger... said that? GOVERNOR: It's a comment he posted on Facebook. 11 FARAGE: Well he's quite right! It's not - 12 [Farage pauses again, distracted by the image on the screen] 13 FARAGE: What's with the hat? GOVERNOR: He's into history. [ends]
Equally good.
Brilliant likenesses of the lead actors. Mark Eden instantly recognisable and Derren Nesbitt instantly recognisable from the story, but unrecognisable compared to Where Eagles Dare.
William Shatner is 95.
Hereโs what was going through his mind as he boldly went where a small group of people went before.
Humble & haunting.

This was the most precious thing to me in the 1980's.
Just had this flagged with me. This is disgusting.
If Kemi Badenoch had one ounce of leadership in her, she would condemn this.
I donโt want any faux sadness from her or Nick Timothy when one of us is hurt or worse.
This is how low the Conservative Party have sunk.
I see Question Time has reached its inevitable endgame. It was bound to happen.
That's a shame. Watched him in Genesis of the Daleks yesterday. He was in everything but the first time he stood out to me was in The Manageress with Cherie Lunghi in the late 80's.

I didn't engage with Hartnell's portrayal as a kid, probably because I saw so few episodes, they were in B&W and he was so different to Tom Baker and Peter Davison. Over the last few years I have grown to love it. I watched the Loose Cannon DMP last month and it soared to the top of my favourites.
