Spokane WA has a huge waterfall going through the center of town.
Christ's decapitated head rests in a sea of bones and viscera. A flock of carrion birds circles overhead. A vulture rests on the bones, the others on a pitted, ruined cross being strangled by vines.
Baphomet stands tall behind a bonfire in the darkened woods. A circle of celebrants revolves around him. Mist moves in toward the fire.
An ancient door swings open and a horrible light erupts out in a sharply defined wedge against the darkness. There is a mist or smoke beginning to emerge with the light.
Figures make their way up a winding pathway beset by lava and fire and smoke. Embers float everywhere. Far off in the distance perched on the edge of a humongous cliff is a horrible church. Lava pours down the cliff face. Smaller figures can be seen on the cliff nearing the church.

Nothing says: “Entering A Global Recession” like being parked in a commercial freight vehicle for over 24 hours, in a gravel lot, in Lewiston ID, with no word from dispatch.
Been doing a bunch of small highway drives from WA through UT and NV through the back side of Los Angeles. Living in the Central Valley for 25 years deprived me of any alternate perspective than I-5 or Hwy 99. There’s an entire side of CA that I’ve been missing.
Got some stupid over-priced sushi in Phoenix and found maybe the last payphone in North America in the deserts of Cosgrave, NV (no dial tone).
From LA to Helena, Montana in one week. On to Phoenix next.
Ain't it funny how the factories doors close?
'Round the time that the school doors close?
'Round the time that a hundred thousand jail cells
Open up to greet you, like the reaper?
Like ashes in the fall.
Took the HWY 95 South through Humboldt County, Nevada through Winnemucca, then the 395 through Bishop on the East side of the Sierras.

I will find more of these church trailers, I’m sure. I got some pretty severe looks at this truck stop in - get this - Whitestown, IN. People still don’t like tattoos or something, not sure.
My first time at an actual Waffle House location too.
