hmm… banjo kazooie
Neon pixel art of an amazon in a sleeveless leather top and miniskirt with a Y2K-style visible midriff. She has a huge blond pony updo and a big sword.
Pixel character portrait of a woman with a mess of brown hair, big, upturned blue eyes, and pursed, pouty-looking lips.
ASCII art of a a brown-haired, blue-eyed woman stretched out while a bloody dagger hovers over her midriff. She looks displeased about this.
Pixel screenshot of a woman in tattered brown rags being held between two Centurian-style soldiers while a king on a throne condemns her.
my new zine, Shareware Made Me Trans, is now out!! ~6000 words (and lots of images) on the 90s games that shaped my gender identity, including windows 3.1 amazons, sapphic crpg romances, and my own teenage fetish games.
link in reply with excerpts and free community copies for trans readers
saw oklou and had a nice time with my friends :)
game of the year incoming
hey guys - i'm in a pretty dire housing situation right now. i have to move at the end of the month (lease expires) but prior plans w/ people completely fell apart & i'm back to square one. i'm looking for a room in Brooklyn, trans friendly, 1100 a month max, not a temporary sublet. plz let me know.
this is a real problem with it for me. it’s a nice arrangement and it’s well written but it sounds so wimpy!
games i wanted to include on here but couldn't due to how restrictive the categories are include: sylvie lime, stray children, chibi-robo, wave race 64, automaton lung, grim fandango...
i overthought this :/
depression got me today BUT i took a nice walk through the rose garden
They don't make games like this anymore because we no longer believe in the optimistic future they once represented.
Three images of Neil banging out the tunes on April 13, 2006. Neil is a hairless rat.
Twenty years ago, Neil banged out the tunes. Who was he? Come on a brief and fruitful quest to find out: defector.com/a-brief-and-...
it's fun as long as you go in with tempered expectations! the story is very shallow, and the default difficulty doesn't really incentivize you to play with the systems in a considered way, but it's a pretty pleasant and breezy time with some cool ideas, and depth is there is you want it. and: divas
this statement is giving extremely "edited by a lawyer to ensure no case for defamation"
the elheim section of unicorn overlord is like the diva convention. after every battle i get new divas. it’s incredible
hi. so, things aren't going well right now.
i need help.

if you're in a precarious situation yourself, then don't worry about me. get back on your own feet first.
if you're not in danger, i'd appreciate whatever aid you can offer.
thank you.
fka twigs show was cool (strobe warning)
i once described her output as “music-flavored music” and i stand by that
thank you! ☺️
In the spirit of trans visibility, lemme just plug my ongoing project to document as many pre-2010 games as possible that had a trans person on the dev team. You might be surprised by what's on there. There's games going right back to the sixties!

i’ll bite! i write for @48hills.bsky.social, a bay area nonprofit news org. i cover video games and music stories relevant to the local community, mostly interested in how creatives navigate systemic challenges. my stuff is here:
if you feel like helping a trans person out, please consider a paid sub or a one-time donation to Stop Caring.
I make no money on this. On the contrary, I am losing money. I am okay with that so long as I can pay my writers (relatively) well for guest spots.

i’m putting taste into 13 sentinels and chowing the fuck down on yakisoba pan
PLEASE help a dear trans woman friend of mine escape domestic violence.
Please donate and/or Share Widely.
Doing whatever you can would truly mean the world to me.

Four aspirational young people sitting on a fake leather couch cheering at a real game they're actually playing.
An older couple lying on a bed playing on a PS2 that is turned around the wrong way.
Two geezers, lads, blokes playing a PS2. One is shouting at the other having just 'spanked' him at FIFA.
Trendy people standing around an open PS2 slim with that EyeToy game in it looking amazed for some reason.
Realistic and convincing PS2 lifestyle photography from 2007.
happy puzzle spy international release day! check out this interview i did with the devs, and take a look at the game while you’re at it!
the thing i've learned after playing yume nikki is that, on some level, every video game is yume nikki
[looks at the news] anyway,
last gdc piece is up! was thinking about how game devs of color and immigrants are navigating a hostile political and cultural climate. this is a big topic so i hope i did an ok job of articulating the current landscape!
