As a teacher, I can state unequivocally that kids today are just DIFFERENT post-COVID (well, peri-COVID, because it’s still here). As much as everyone wanted to return to “the way things were,” those days are OVER and trying to shoehorn life back into pre-COVID times actually causes more trauma.

Not discounting that they just made up the numbers, but a socially-normed test is always based on societal cultures. If you’re not a member of that culture, your score is effectively meaningless.

Dems need to keep hitting the corruption issue HARD. Make the word inseparable in voters’ minds from Trump and the GOP. Ossoff does a good job here—and it’s an immense relief to hear him talk about Kushner:

Gonna spend the next two years spamming every elected Dem about the concept of "damnatio memoriae." Chisel his name off every inscription. Build over the various Trump Towers like they're Nero's Golden House. Remove him from physical memory, not to forget but as a sign of disrespect to the man.

The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.

Make no mistake — due to gerrymandering, good ol’ racism, and sheer laziness, this type of comprehensive defeat would likely not be possible in the U.S.
