The number one advice any & every writing professional can & will give you is this:

DO NOT BE AFRAID TO SUCK.

You have spent years reading books, watching movies & TV, developing taste to know good from bad. NO ONE GETS TO READ YOUR WRITING UNTIL YOU LET THEM. Trust your taste & write fearlessly.

What I would quite like please is for somebody to write the rest of my book for me. Not in a ghost-writing cheaty way, just in a physically lifting my fingers onto the keyboard and slapping me every time I think about wandering into the kitchen.

I’m finally writing the vampire book I always wanted to read. I hope that by the time this book is ready, that the readers will love these characters as much as I do. Especially Asha, my dark princess.

I’m so used to being acutely aware of my imperfect writing. So much so that I just didn’t bother to write the story I’ve been daydreaming about for years. I didn’t want to start from zero and have it be imperfect in any way. That compliment though? A reminder writing is a skill I can strengthen.

I received my first major compliment on the rough draft of my book today.
I cannot express how my heart and blood raced like I’d just been told I’d won the lottery. To be told my growth was traceable chapter by chapter meant so much!! I didn’t think I’d ever write this book, much less GROW from it.
