I’m excited to be back in beautiful (though damp) Copenhagen, for the world premiere (14/3) of Conscious - a new film by Suki Chan & Aconite Docs. Tomorrows pi-day #cphdox premiere is already sold out, but there are other screenings later in the week. cphdox.dk/film/conscio...

Indeed, I did not ever say. Nevertheless, @evanthompson.bsky.social disagrees with what I did say too.

.. and we both know we never get to choose the titles/headlines, which is unfortunate, because even though *you* know I mean experience (and target that in your piece), the headline reinforces the wrong idea once again, hence the need for all these clarifications, tiresome for everyone.

I am frequently MIS-quoted on this point, which is why I go to great pains always to emphasise that I mean "our experience of reality", not "reality itself". E.g. in the article you sent me, note what I actuall say compared to what the journalist writes up, both in the text and in the body.

Correct. I don’t think and have never said that reality itself is a hallucination, whether controlled or otherwise

That's great! It has taken me a long time to write the response to the (50!) commentaries, but I'm nearly there - at least I think. Very happy for your view to be available to see.

I definitely don’t mean that! The word β€œcontrolled” is just as important. I any case this slogan isn’t due to me … I heard it from Chris frith, who heard it from ….. it goes some way back.

Today is the annual Covid-19 #DayOfReflection. 6 years have passed since the start of the pandemic. We reflect today, alongside our community, on the people who lost their lives to Covid-19; the people who still face day-to-day impacts; and on the road ahead.
