You can easily hand wave this by assuming the theater sign is right and Sid’s not bothering to set the date correctly on her watch.

I don't recall any previous transformative technologies that had to be sold to the public so hard. No one in 1999 was going, "Guys. Cell phone? It's coming, whether we like it or not. I think it's important, FOR WOMEN ESPECIALLY, to learn about cell phone. So that we're not left behind!!"
Yeah, we’re not supposed to tell people who didn’t buy the disc, but after the credits finish, if you let it play for eleven hours and thirty eight minutes, George comes onscreen and spills all kinds of secret canon like the name of Yoda’s species, Palpatine’s favorite ice cream flavor, it’s wild
The Maclunkey edit came out on 4K in 2020, actually. Seems like this release is the same transfer.
Sometimes I think people pining for video stores use ‘Blockbuster’ as a generic term, like Kleenex - but obviously not in the case of the former employee you quote-tweeted.
Yeah, I don’t miss Blockbuster, I miss VisArt Video in Chapel Hill where I went in college, and Family Video where I used to freak myself out browsing the covers of Freddy Krueger VHS’s while my mom was in line to pay. (They also sold comics; bought my first Spidey issues there.)
It’s nuts man. I bought a 1Tb Samsung SSD for $129 last June. Same drive costs $332 today. Out of control.
“I’ve been using ChatGPT to help with cooking for a while now, so I didn’t think too much of it when the ingredients list included a bottle filled with gasoline and a cloth wick,” said the alleged attacker
“Curious and confused crowds” lol, they need to send this thing to Philly
I also think it was a mistake to teach general/casual audiences that a franchise once known for big screen event spectacle is now just another streaming show. How many of them think this will also be on Disney+ opening weekend? How many plan to wait the ridiculously short time until it is?
That first shower after ten days in space has got to be amazing
The Lower Manhattan location has been a go-to since it opened but I’d say it’s been more than a year since I’ve had a genuinely good experience there. The QR code bullshit was still in test pilot last time I went, I don’t think I’m ever going back at this point.

They're both better than any Alien movie that followed.

Sorry just muted you.
Only thought to post because folks in my timeline are arguing about TLJ again

Tuned into the #ArtemisII launch just in time, mostly because one of the astronauts is a fellow alum of my high school - I can’t remember if I’ve watched a NASA launch happen live before. Found it exhilarating, honestly. More of this please? And go Unis 🦄
Old people yelling at young people that they aren't using new technology fast enough. Young people yelling at old people that sex is dirty and sinful. Whole fucking world's on shuffle.
I guess “not being online for a few hours” isn’t an option for some, thoughts and prayers
Ah, April Fool’s Day. When the sharpest minds of social media - who spend the rest of the year chuckling at Onion headlines and dril tweets - cry that the internet is a Very Serious Place and lose their minds because the McDonald’s account posted “fries are made with bones now” or whatever.
This is Ernest Goes to Africa erasure and I’m… actually really glad you did that. Best we memory hole that one.
Every time 😑
It's not too late for the Grim Reaper to do the right thing
What are some of the films that got scrapped that you've worked on? I had a big Spider-Man movie about the Sinister Six go down because of the Sony hack. My office was right on the lot, and I saw the FBI swarm in and the helicopters fly over the studio. I was sad about it, but there was literally nothing I could do to change the course of events. I suppose it was better than if they hadn't liked the script.
Hey, everyone breathlessly reporting on this like it’s news - can you help me understand why these four sentences actually “explain” why the movie was halted? Like, did the helicopters blow all the script pages out the window? Did the FBI guys shoot all the copies of the script? Help me out here.
