Bill prohibiting book bans in Oregon school libraries becomes law • Oregon ArtsWatch Senate Bill 1098, signed this week by Gov. Tina Kotek, is based in Oregon’s discrimination law related to protected classes.

“[Oregon’s] new law prohibits removing and banning books from school libraries for reasons exclusively based on the fact that their content includes a protected class.”

Fund school libraries and staff them with trained, licensed librarians.
