My podcast guest tomorrow will be @ccpxp.bsky.social on what it was like to call Canada-U.S. or a Canadian broadcaster.

Pretty pumped to have McDonough and Cuthbert in the same week.

If you are a hockey geek, you'll enjoy these.

Saddened to learn that Russian skaters Irina Shiskova and Vadim Naumov were killed in the Washington plane crash. Rivals of Brasseur and Eisler πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ in the early 90s, they always conducted themselves with class and sportsmanship and were more open than most πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί skaters. Respect and Condolences

Alex Ovechkin scored his 400th since turning 30. Only Gordie Howe has scored more after 30 with 415.
It’s why the Great 8 will pass Wayne Gretzky. 99 scored 188 goals as a thirty something (rank T55th)
Some trivia, their only common teammate Mike Knuble had 228 goals beyond 30

After watching Lane Hutson for the first time at BU my first impression comparable was Phil Housley. Decided to check both players stats through 44 games. Housley 36 points, Hutson 36. The Habs rookie only has 1196 points to go.

Did this at 60. Was going to turn back, but in the end not that difficult and definitely a highlight day.

If the NY Jets could improve as much as LaGuardia airport has they’d be Super Bowl champs!

Was a Dylan fan back in high school so it would be in my wheelhouse but a rave review nonetheless for A Complete Unknown, and a standing ovation for Timothee Chalumet! Don’t think twice it’s (more than) all right!

Congratulations to my esteemed HNIC colleague and friend Scott Oake on his well deserved appointment to the Order of Canada today.
His tireless work in establishing the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre in Winnipeg has been inspirational.
Not a bad sports commentator either!

I’ve been away from CFL telecasts for a few years but delighted to see Mark Kilam and Buck Pierce get their head coaching jobs. Two great men who have invested decades of work to call the shots. Exciting news for the Elks, Lions and CFL!

Not sure coaches would like it as much as us

Not sure it could have ever happened but I actually thought a coaching trade, dealing Jim Montgomery for Mike Sullivan would have been a good hockey trade.

Argos haven’t lost a Grey Cup appearance since John Candy won as owner in β€˜91. I want to believe that isn’t a coincidence.

Happy Grey Cup Day. The Argos will be in tough to extend this but remarkably have won their last 7 appearances in the big game. Their last loss was in 1987 at BC Place.

Far more glitter on the train ride into Toronto tonight than usual. I don’t think most of the passengers are going to the Oilers Leafs game
