Portland *can* build affordable, beautiful housing that puts you in proximity to your friends, grocery stores, schools, work, etc.
My resolution will empower us to do just that! Come to evening Council next week and show my fellow Councilors that we’re ready to take transformative steps in housing✨
Trump's threat to bomb Iran "back to the stone age" and that "a whole civilization will die tonight" is 1000% out of sync with every moral code.
To the Republican leaders: call Congress back into session NOW to stop Trump's plan to slaughter civilians.
would love to hear this from more portland electeds 👇
Our office has launched a budget survey as another tool to gauge your priorities as Council considers how to respond to the budget the Mayor will propose in April. There will be some tough choices ahead of us this year, so please take a moment to let us know what you think by 4/20
let’s do stop consolidation, far side bus stops, and TSP systemwide immediately for every frequent service line
the trump administration is selling this country wholesale to rapacious, extractive industries that will destroy our collective resources for private profit morethanjustparks.substack.com/p/breaking-t...
Not doing just a bit here: my office will be moving forward with some oversight on this.
Here’s why: fundamentally, we changed our form of government to move away from backroom dealing on matters of public interest. Using code names for recurring meetings like this runs counter to transparency.
JFC. She’s courting a republican who has no background and an IBR consultant. Bus Cut Kotek 👍
Have my gripes with Novick but this is a top-shelf answer:
My LTE in The Oregonian about the Interstate Bridge Replacement Project: www.oregonlive.com/opinion/2026...
Time sensitive: this is the last day to submit comments opposing the Bureau of Land Management's clearcutting of Oregon's ancient forests. This is a tool that educates you on just how diabolical it is, and it helps you submit your comment. morethanjustparks.com/oregon-old-g...
I submitted comments suggesting the state evaluate scaling back freeway megaprojects and increasing transit funding. oregoncapitalchronicle.com/2026/03/17/p...
Portland Sunday Parkways Presented by Kaiser Permanente is back for the 19th consecutive year. The 2026 season kicks off in Southwest Portland on May 17, continues in East Portland on June 28, introduces a brand-new North Portland event on Aug. 2, and wraps up in Downtown Portland on Sept. 13.
@jakz92.bsky.social Were you saying that even the full-size bridge wouldn't require building the rest of the project?
No one living has experienced an urban world not broken by the scream of cars. We’ve become numb, letting machines set a baseline of anxiety and dictate our environment. We may not make cars disappear, but shrinking their presence is essential for our mental health.

Agreed
claiming safety benefits. DSA reps are also here, airing concerns about AVs reducing transit ridership. I testified asking for rules to mitigate increases in VMT.
I'm at a PBOT hearing on proposed autonomous vehicles rules. Seems like PBOT is cautiously optimistic about AVs and has been doing research on other cities' experiences. There's a strong showing from the Driver's Union (generally opposed, concerned about job losses). A few testifiers are pro-AV, 1/
Tomorrow my Inner Eastside For All Resolution to spur housing production will be heard at the Climate Committee! The Committee is being dissolved and I will not be a chair anymore, but I am proud to bring this forward as one last piece of legislation through there.

Next year, however, much more dire @trimet.org service cuts are expected, and then serious damage is likely to be done to either ridership or equity.
The Portland area needs leadership now to look for ways to plug this funding gap! 2/2
Oregon legislators who prioritized highway expansions and stadium rehab money while gutting mass transit and safe routes money sure look like stooges in the middle of a huge gas crisis.
I submitted mine!
Just saw a Portland Boroque Orchestra performance of the Goldberg Variations. Very glad to live in a cool city with a great classical and popular music scene.
But sad puppy navel gazing aside, when are we going to take legislative pay seriously? Ever? You want working class people in positions of power, but add it to your FT jobs, screw your family, and forget any sense of balance. Oh, and now campaign (and fundraise), too. And show up, everywhere.
