Picture of a board game titled "The Publish or Perish Game: A Humorous Party Game About Academic Publishing".
Just opened @maxhuibai.bsky.social's game, hoping to get better reviews in the game than IRL…
A box of "The Publish or Perish Game" and a box of the expansion pack "The Full Campus Meltdown Trilogy"
I'm the fun cousin though. I brought games @maxhuibai.bsky.social
Jeu de société pour la pendaison de crémaillère! Thanks a lot for developing this game! @maxhuibai.bsky.social
Two boxes are standing upright on a wooden table. The two boxes are meant to look like Academic papers. The left box is titled "The Publish or Perish Game." There is a large red stamped message in the middle that reads "Revise and Resubmit." The right box is titled "The Full Campus Meltdown Trilogy." There is a large red stamped message in the middle that reads "Decision Pending."

Yes of course! Let me know what I can help with!
Thank you Tingting! It's quite fun I'd say! I mean a significant portion of the work is just playing games!
Abstract that reads How different racial minorities experience racism differently remains underexplored in existing research. Here, we show that Asian and Black people are often dehumanized differently. Twelve studies spotlight a racial asymmetry in dehumanization using a wide array of methods (experimental, archival, and computational) and data sources (online samples, word embeddings, and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data): Whereas Black people are more often subjected to animalistic dehumanization, Asian people are predominantly subjected to mechanistic dehumanization. We demonstrate this asymmetry from the vantage point of victims (Studies 1a and 1b) and perpetrators (Studies 2a–2d). We further document the prevalence of this asymmetry across diverse domains, from everyday language (Study 3) to perceptions in the realms of romantic relationships (Study 4a), crime rates (Study 4b), and business skills (Study 4c). Finally, we demonstrate the asymmetry’s real-world consequences in labor market segregation (Studies 5 and 6). Our findings shed light on the distinct experiences of racism encountered by different racial groups and, more critically, introduce a framework that unifies and integrates scattered empirical observations on perceptions of Asian people.
Asian people and Black people can both face dehumanization in the US, but the type differs: Asian = machine, Black = animal

Thank you for your kind words Paolo!
So glad to see my interview with Alessandro Gallo about the Publish or Perish Game has been released! 🤩🤩 Glad the editors of Springer Nature had a great time trying it during their town hall meeting! www.linkedin.com/posts/alessa...
I am grateful to have been on this journey with this fantastic community, including 70+ people who hosted test sessions, and 50+ published academics who helped peer-review the trivia questions. I am looking forward to finally bringing this game to life! 3/3
Media from multiple languages covered the game, and for a couple of days, it was the most popular Kickstarter project, appearing on Nature’s homepage and Google’s autocomplete if you just type “publish ”. All these could not have been possible without the supporters. 2/3
Publish or Perish Kickstarter concludes tomorrow. It has been such a wonderful journey where I have learned so much and been continuously inspired by its supporters. It raised $270k+ from 60+ countries, outperforming 99.6% of Kickstarter projects. 1/3 www.kickstarter.com/projects/max...
My Publish or Perish Game just went LIVE! It's been one of the most wonderful and exciting journeys I have been on in my whole life. Thank you all for your support, and kindness, and for being on this journey together with me! 🥰😭(yeah I cried a little) www.kickstarter.com/projects/max...
We (Svenja Frenzel, claudiaaraya.bsky.social) were able to test the Publish or Perish Game by maxhuibai.bsky.social. It is highly entertaining, and we give it 10 out of 10 points. We were especially impressed with the love for detail on the cards. I will definitely buy it when it is out.
Even in my wildest dream, I did not think that my game could make it to the homepage of Nature🤯. Very excited to launch it soon! www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Senate Dems should take one of their assorted gun control bills off the shelf, rename it something like "Trump Assassination Prevention Act," and force Rs to do a talking filibuster to block it
You will publish useless nonsense while sabotaging each other's research and delivering "very helpful" comments, Reviewer 2 style. It will soon be on Kickstarter. More details on www.ThePublishOrPerishGame.com. Thank you @jayvanbavel.bsky.social for playtesting the game and posting the tweet!
