Two families moved out of our complex today. Something tells me theres more to the 'isolated' issues at my apartment
Revolution Now
"Landlords are people, not leeches"
Meanwhile we have been without hot water at our apartment since Wednesday night. Hubby and I had to call off work since we can't shower. Leasing agency "thanks us for our patience" and will get it fixed Monday.
We focus on cutting in dieting, but adding is far more important in my opinion. Vitamin, mineral, and phytochemicals in veggies and fruits add so much for longevity and overall health, and supplementation of those things are often poorly-absorbed or cause toxicity over time.
On the topic of good diets, I reccomend researching evidence-based diets and talking to a nutritional consultant about what works for you. I am on a Low-Fodmap diet due to some digestive issues, but things like the Mediterranean Diet are worth looking into.

I realized a little too late that the term has become a buzzword over the years. What I am talking about is mostly fast food, sodas, polyol usage, etc. This helpful article by John Hopkins University should help discern what you should limit vs what is okay. publichealth.jhu.edu/2025/what-ar...
But stay humble, remember where you started, where you are, and realize that one day, a corn-fed husky guy from Kansas is gonna walk into the gym and outperform you, and that's okay
If you want that look, work to gain physical strength and confidence in exercise first, eat a calorie-deficit, high protein diet to promote muscle growth, and adhere to rhe stringent and often arduous process of diet and exercise for several months to obtain the tone in the muscle of preference.
You dont need to run a marathon, buy ozempic, get liposuction or buy some fitness influencer's 5 step program. Just be active and happy.
Get off the couch. Go walk in nature at your pace. Go to the beach without caring how others perceive you and how you look. Meet friends for lunch. Play a board game. Do something besides doomscroll social media, even if it's at home.
So what do you do? Besides kicking them so hard in the teeth that they shit out a molar? You spread awareness on what actually matters in health. Being active, eating a varied diet, being social, and making your own life worth living.
They say these mean things because all the popularity, ab pics, and thirst traps on social media doesn't buy them mental wellness, friends, or fulfillment. They're all sad babies living a lie, and they have to make you upset to improve their own mental health.
These mean ass people spent thousands on fitness subscriptions, supplements, weird fad diets, and eat up all the shit people like Andrew Tate types say, and realized all of thay doesn't make them whole or happy. They think making others sad for their looks improves their own mental health.
Fat deposits itself above muscle. It can hide muscle definition. It doesn't make the muscles less strong. It doesn't atrophy your muscles. It just adds weight and makes it less visible. Fat doesn't turn into muscle, muscle doesn't turn into fat. These are absolute lies.
You see those chiseled bodybuilders on TV or social media? That isn't the goal to strive for. Muscle tone and definition are not the same as strength and endurance. Body fat presence does not mean you aren't able to lift, carry, run or do all those things.
If you are overweight or even morbidly obese, but engage in moderate cardio for a total of 150 minutes each week, eat a varied diet avoiding processed foods, get adequate rest and have decent mental health, you have less risk factors than a skinny, angry man on the internet who doesn't do all that.
They want you to keep feeling shitty, buying supplements that promise results, go to the gym for a week then give up and the cycle repeats.
None of this is evidence-based or grounded in reality.
Fat is not an indication of overall health
The supplement, electrolyte, gym and fitness industry is massive, almost as much as Healthcare, and they leech off the public health fears to get you to buy their snake oil. Gym bros with room temp IQs eat this shit up and sell it back to you, doing the industry's marketing for them.
So why do people care if others are obese, have belly fat, or look pudgy? Simple. Appearance.
Many fat phobic people will hide behind health as a justification for their actions, and argue that 'tough love' is needed to push people to lose weight. Its a sham.
More definitive tools like body scans and calipers are expensive and invasive. They spow down treatment and are not really too valuable to most physicians. BMI is a tool of convenience, not a metric of health in any sense.
Asssociated with fat. It takes your height and weight into a calculation to determine a number. It is not at all accurate and has been the subject of significant pushback in the clinical setting for some time. Why do we use it? Because its convenient.
Visceral fat is the fat deposit most harmful to cardiovascular and endocrine health. SubQ fat is much less likely to be an issue.
Why am I explaining this? Because BMI is a stupid metric. Let me explain. BMI stands for Body Mass Index, and is a non-invasive way to measure risk factors-
Fat is subdivided into two locations
Subcutaneous fat: fat between skin and muscle. Up to 90% of fat deposits are this. If you can pinch it, its soft and pudgy, its SubQ fat.
Visceral fat: fat that surrounds the organs within the abdomen. This is harder, and more dense.
To really understand the issue, we also need to understand what body fat is, what BMI is, and what all this means.
Body fat is a type of connective tissue the body uses to store energy, insulate and protect vital structures, and metabolize certain things in the body.
We all have fat.
Recently a certain individual, associated with with a certain fursuit fabric company, made some disparaging remarks about overweight furries. I am making this post to speak against that and also explain why people continue to act this way.
Hi, I am Kilo. For those who don't know me, I am a Licensed Practical Nurse with over 8 years experience in public health settings. I am currently working on my RN, and I am studying nutrition at this very moment. I am not an expert, but I have some knowledge to share.
After seeing some recent discourse about fat, and being someone who cares immensely about public health, mental health, and pissing off shitty individuals I encourage you all to interact with this post and the replies below. Share with your friends so we can all learn together.
