Both the United States and UK are very culturally Christian and wrapped up in Christian hegemony, it's just the U.S. is more overt about it.

As someone who has lived in both countries, Christianity *is* still part and parcel in the UK as well, more than most people realize. It's just the parts of it most people adhere to are so secularized that most people don't think about it.
This is uh... fucking embarrassing for you.
The reason Iβm so nice is because my playlist is doing all of the screaming for me
That's funny...I don't recall you doing that shit on Threads in 2024...tf are they on?
From left to right: "some of you may die" meme from Shrek, guy painting himself as a clown, "why. won't. you. Die!!!" from TES IV: Oblivion, tacos.
april 7th 2026, no context.
At this point, I just straight up don't believe the WH or anything they say, sorry.
dear diary, today i was angry because i woke up early and i was still sleepy:
Me @ Harry Potter fans.
Lil wiki hole trivia since it's in my head: "'Pass the Dutchie'" was the first music video by black artists to appear on the American television channel MTV; it preceded Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' to air by several months." Also that the band's from *Peaky Blinders accent* Buuuuhmingahm.
No, seriously. Stop arguing with these mfs. I haven't been entirely innocent of this myself, which is how I came to this realization. Engaging with HP fans to tell them how cringe they are is also a part of the problem.
Maybe one day I'll write a detailed essay as to why, but I cannot stress to you enough that you should just block Potterheads without engaging with them.
i completely forgot about this.
The idea that poor people don't deserve to have good, nutritious, and delicious food is pure classism and is a desire to deprive every last opportunity for joy from the lives of people struggling to get by.
I have wondered many times if it's appropriate to compare this situation to the ancient kingdoms of Judah and Samaria before. It may still not be appropriate...but it's very telling that I think along those lines, isn't it?
One of the great things about this app is I see someone quote-replying to someone saying utterly ludicrous bs, and I already have them blocked.
A stank-face meme
The Jewish community needs a version of this. "Two Jews, Three Opinions" ain't really cutting it no more.
I, too, do mot want to share a seder plate with them. They voted against Black Jews who are descended from the enslaved seeking reparations the week before Pesach. This just pisses me off further.
true, but there *are* some people who really do seemingly have the inability to comprehend subtext in what they consume, so if there *are* people out there believing star trek now is "too woke," it still wouldn't shock me.
"star trek too woke nowadays" has to be one of the most cursed sentiments of all time. we must bring back media literacy and critical thinking skills.
people who like the music you post are the realest ones
You're preaching to the choir - I'm a *Black* trans person that lives in the *UK.* You think I'm not aware that there are bodies piling up?
If you want to continue to engage in respectability politics, go ahead and do that...but stop trying to get me to co-sign it.
I'm not going to encourage people to pirate the Harry Potter TV show, or absolve cis people of their guilt for enjoying the franchise when they ask for "permission" to enjoy it via piracy LOL.
If someone can't not watch a fucking TV show, they can't be trusted in bigger situations.
Did you miss the part where I said this about more than just money?
I know the television show isn't making it all the way to the end...it doesn't mean any viewership should be encouraged.
I don't answer "reasonable" questions from someone who is only going to gaslight any given responses I give, because I know it's not a genuine question. I've been around the block a few times...I know what you are.
music addiction is the best addiction ever
Ah, so you're not actually just curious. You're sealioning. Wonderful.
I am neutral on piracy overall, but I am not going to be encouraging people to pirate Harry Potter related materials.
It is about far more than *just* money. Rowling herself has said she considers *any* engagement with the franchise to be an endorsement of her views.
