A Saucerful of Secrets
A drawing of a wind turbine with a bald eagle perched on one blade and a Chinese dragon snaking up the column. Title: Trump's Climate Denial is a gift to China
I wrote about China's climate policy.
Did you know that China has enacted the most comprehensive climate policy in the world?
Well, it has — because it's positioning itself as global hegemon for the climate-changed future.
Trump's climate denial is only a stupid, tragic assist to that end.

A man and woman cycle side-by-side on blue and yellow shared bikes along a red asphalt protected bike lane outside Utrecht Centraal Station.
Why do Dutch railways invest in shared bikes?
54% of users ride the train more often because of its availability. Without OV-fiets, 8% would use a car instead of the train.
Every euro returns up to €2,40 in societal benefits, with improved accessibility, congestion, and health and safety outcomes.
Charging an EV is not the same as filling up a car. Ionity is now making charging and resting breaks even more fun: sports equipment rental company Piffl has installed boxes at 3 Swedish charging locations where you can rent various sports equipment ⚽🎾🏓 to make the most of your break!
Also china has the advantage of only fighting a trade war with the US, giving them ample trading partners to pivot to, while the US fights a trade war with *every fucking country on the planet*
The climate crisis won’t be solved by the same neoliberal logic that caused it. This is why private investments won’t deliver decarbonisation.
We need bold public leadership—not greenwashing or half-measures—for a just, systemic transformation.
It works quite well on smaller, traffic-calmed streets. On a narrow street, the bikes themselves act as traffic calming, creating an urban space welcoming to all, pedestrians and shoppers too. On larger, wider streets this is harder to achieve, and so regular bike lanes work better.
"The Spanish bill, which needs to be approved by the lower house, classifies non-compliance with proper labelling of AI-generated content as a "serious offence" that can lead to fines of up to 35 million euros ($38.2 million) or 7% of their global annual turnover." www.reuters.com/technology/a...
“One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss.”
“Which means that Copenhagen, a city of 1.2 million people, saves $357 million a year on health costs because something like 80% of its population commutes by bike.” #CityMakingMath
Some costs aren’t costs.
When you stop being curious you settle for what you are comfortable with, not only with music.
Last year, the Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology introduced the 'Infuuts', a special bike for children attached to tubes and IVs.
Due to all reactions the bicycle is now produced on a larger scale for use by other hospitals at home and abroad.

"What matters is being present in the moment, finding joy in the small victories, and learning to appreciate where I am, even when I’m not sure of the destination. Yesterday was a reminder of how far I’ve come, and how much potential there still is."
By the way, do you gentlebeings know how we almost destroyed the ozone layer by accident?
How we have the early environmental protesters, a well-funded and competent U.S. federal scientific apparatus, and the 1973 energy crisis to thank that we even learned of the problem before it was too late?
"by mechanising routine tasks and leaving exception-handling to the human user, you deprive the user of the routine opportunities to practice their judgement and strengthen their cognitive musculature, leaving them atrophied and unprepared when the exceptions do arise"
