Just messing around with it on my phone, it was totally usable. And looks really pretty sweet overall. THANK YOU!

Totally.
It took 25 minutes for the new Day 1 notification to show up in NWSchat, so hopefully everything's not broken on a day like today.
After the storms moved to the NE. #IowaCity #iawx #skiesoveriowa
It does appear the severe weather threat for Tuesday in eastern Iowa has the potential to be a doozy (technical term)
Smart for nerd credibility that NASA hired a guy who sounds like Brent Spiner to do the commentary on the feed.
Too cool!
Exactly! This is high quality game prep for an announcer. Show that you left the hotel!
"they're going wild at Brothers, and Bo James in downtown Iowa City!" Etc and forever. A true classic.
I tried to help things yesterday by suggesting that if you're going to call it a Super El Niño, you have to say "super" as if it's a Spanish word. All I got back was people quoting that SNL skit from 30+ years ago. Which, fair.
👀
TWC has some sort of weird pseudo-support for NBM if you do something special, I thought. But it probably doesn't include probabilistic stuff.
And usually it's just sad Hawkeyes if at all. I'll take it.

Ok, so that's incredible.

Aged well!
It truly is remarkable. Even the change in, what, the last 10 years? I have to sit back and appreciate that we routinely get 1-minute, very high-quality imagery with effectively no delay on public websites on areas of interest (instead of hoping for SRSO data). Progress is great.
A remarkable severe weather day in Iowa and the country. The storm in this phase was pretty unbelievable, and the larger tornado on the right was violent for a while. Lucky beyond believe the EF-4 did not move through a more populated area (same storm produced EF-2s in cities later on)
That's an all-timer! And Duke losing means everyone wins.
Illinois was favored in this game for a good reason. Once they turned their shooting around, it was over for the Hawks.
Yeah the end of this game sucked
Cool, Hawkeyes, now do the exact same thing in every way in the second half and you got this (Illinois has to, too)
Horn problem never would have happened in the Astrodome.
My official statement: hell yeah
The Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team has only been to the Elite 8 once before in my life. I was less than one year old.
It's just truly unbelievable.
You gotta fire Hoiberg after only having 4 players on the court after a timeout.
The Vince McMahon reaction meme.
My actual reactions watching this:
Here was the start of my Gazette column from the previous time Iowa last earned a spot in the NCAA men's Sweet 16, 1999 in Denver:
I can kind of live with it, though I'm not sure why the cone doesn't overlay the warnings. All the messaging correctly says watch the cone not the center line, but this takes that away (inland at least)
Today's Weather Rewind wasn't exactly the most local of events, but it was an interesting one! Plus, I really liked the 1913 newspaper headlines: www.kcrg.com/video/2026/0...
An image showing the top 10 fastest warm-ups in Cedar Rapids history, based on hourly observations at the Eastern Iowa Airport.
Last week's 22 to 89 degree swing was the second-biggest warm-up across four days in Cedar Rapids' hourly record, dating back to 1973. It's also now, by a decent margin, the biggest warm-up that didn't start with temperatures below zero. Shout-out to Iowa Environmental Mesonet for the data/plot.
