N.L. government declares dead ball on English soccer team sponsorship | CBC News The Newfoundland and Labrador government will not renew a controversial sponsorship deal with an English professional soccer team, saying there were no "clear outcomes" linked to the $171K investment.

All that sponsorship cash and #newfoundland is still an 'ice-bound island' somewhere far, far away🙄

Carpooling has always been a thing, not a sign of the apocalypse. Oh #vocm come on! #newfoundland

"April 20, 2026 - Have you resorted to measures such as carpooling to help cut down on expenses stemming from higher fuel prices?"

Well Liberals who are no longer part of government speaking out about climate change seems to be a pattern. The ? is why is it so hard to get things done when in government?

Socialism is not a dirty word. I am a socialist and I believe we would thrive under socialism. Socialist governments have historically delivered for the people. We're already seeing the benefits for New Yorkers under Zohran Mamdani.

I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

ZOHRAN: “TBH, I don’t think too much about how Republicans portray me. The power of an ideology is judged in the worth of its delivery— to be told a city-run grocery store is implausible but $500 MILLION/day to kill ppl in Iran & Lebanon is necessary speaks to a broken politics.”

I'm not against investment but 1) what exactly are these investments in and 2) We have massive financial capacity in this country within the federal government and pension plans alone (among others), we don't need to 'go a courtin'

A replay of the old Mulrooney/Chretien 'open for business'/'Team Canada'. Nothing new under the Sun. How will this align with Canadian sovereignty by inviting BlackRock et al to the garage sale?

"Our team received a report of intermittent app outages at about 11:40pm PDT on April 15, 2026. They worked through the night to mitigate a sophisticated Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack, which intensified throughout the day."

Oh and weren't there there a zillion stories written about how 'cool' Canada was under Trudeau number two. Am I imaging that?

4 days ago 1 0 1 0

What's funny of course is that this is being presented as something new when it's exactly the same playbook as Mulrooney/Chretien. Just another version of 'open for business' or 'Team Canada'. I've never been impressed by Carney b/c I see him for exactly what he is, a neoliberal Investment banker.
