Last night at the @portlandopera.bsky.social opening of Fellow Travelers. I was also at the opening of the same production at the @seattleopera.bsky.social last month. Both performances were great, but this one really benefitted from the cozier confines of the Newmark Theater here in PDX.

How it's going...

Well, it's my birthday, so that's nice!

Martin Atkins took this at The Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music during the Cold Waves pancake breakfast on 9.28.25. Jim Semonik is on the left side of Martin's head, I'm on the right, and Peter Dowsett is hiding in Martin's hair.

(3/) Another car almost got taken out by one of the truck's wheels, which had busted off and was ping-ponging back and forth across all three lanes. 😢

(2) ...before realizing it was a chunk of the car or pickup truck in front of me, which were now going at weird angles all over the road having just smashed into each other...

It made me think of the parade scene in Burton's Batman, not the scene in The Dark Night that was actually filmed here! I suspect Burton's set was inspired by this location, though, and would even suspect that Nolan filmed here as a nod to the 1989 film.
