But perhaps if I'm going to reflect on it, it’s a sign of resilience, and although I've called it destruction of a polaroid, it’s not destroyed at all. It’s come through a lot of changes but it still retains beauty in the scars.
Part 5 is the final image. I had no real idea with what I was doing with this, just wanted to see how far I could change the original while still keeping it recognisable. (It was surprisingly hard to make it catch fire! Had to use a blowtorch in the end)

Destruction of a Polaroid parts 3 and 4
Parts 1 and 2 were the original polaroid. Part 3 is added embroidery and part 4 is setting fire to the image.
Threads - destruction of a Polaroid parts 1 and 2 • Polaroid Week Autumn 2025 day 4 • on the left the original Polaroid • on the right the emulsion lift • parts 3 and 4 to follow.
Glendrian (depopulated settlement) West Ardnamurchan. Glendrian wasn’t ‘cleared’ unlike many nearby communities, but its presence still remains with memory into deep time as it sits in the volcanic ring near Achnaha.
To touch this earth is to read a text written in centuries, a script that resists erasure.
The feannagan of Ardnamurchan hold the scars of the Clearances and the strength of return.

Worldwide pinhole photography
Unbelievably, I now live 5 minutes drive from what is described as the world’s largest pinhole camera (probably 😂)
Had to take my #Pinsta with me so it was the first time I’d used it away from the safety of my garden!
Fingers crossed!
