Picture of four books: the hunger of the gods, the gifts of imperfections, the science of storytelling, and stoner
Four novels I’m currently reading. They’re all excellent novels. One for growth, one for the craft of writing, one for the fantasy lover, one for a classic.
Was this because of the Danish Navy having to take care of a critically ill US Naval soldier?
Thank you, Kristen!
I got my first YES! After years of writing, editing, completing my MFA, I got a ‘yes’ for my poem, The Keeper, from Nat1 Publishing to appear in their anthology, TPK, coming out this March! And yes, D&D and other ttrpg fans, the anthology is about exactly that…dumb decisions our parties make…

Sitting at my desk and journaling helps. Sometimes journaling will lead to something else.
I’m at it again! I’ve gotten so many great ideas over the years…just nothing publishing worthy, yet.
No Christmas decorations. It’s now a light tree.

So true! I don’t have a lot of books. There are some I keep, but most get brought to a local used/new bookstore. I tend not to read any that I buy-at least not right away. Some I’ve had for 2-3 years. One I had for 8 years before giving up on ever reading it.

I’m not that far in, but I’m enjoying Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead. It was written by Olga Tokarczuk, translated by Antonia Lloyd-James. Her writing style has something poetic about it. The use of capitalization in some words within sentences brings a different meaning to the text.
Werner, the slightly nervous order of the scribe Halfling wizard who’s seriously lacking in confidence and prefers libraries…until the fighting starts, then a slightly blood thirsty side, with a love for violent spells, appears.
Thanks so much, Erik! I'm so glad the book arrived! Second graders are a perfect age for this story. Hope you all see some blue jays at work near your neighborhood! @annehunterstudio.bsky.social
@annehunterstudio.bsky.social your illustrations are amazing and pair perfectly with Lynn Street’s prose. Thanks to Susanna Leonard Hill for running the giveaway!
The Blue Jays That Grew a Forest is an absolute gem! My second graders are going to love this book written by @lynnstreetbooks.bsky.social and illustrated by Anne Hunter (Sorry I didn’t tag you- I wasn’t sure which was your account).
It’s a must have for your collection! The end pages are gorgeous!
