I had a GREAT conversation with Tripp Fuller. I don't know if I answered a single one of his questions, but it was pure bliss chatting theology and politics with him!

My first professor of theology, James H. Cone, told us that the vocation of theologian entails saying “Yes” to some things and “No” to others. Anyone who condones the cruel actions of this president knows little of the Christian religion and less of Jesus the Christ.

Would love that!
From yesterday’s sermon on Luke 4:21-30:
The United States of America is like the people of Nazareth in this passage. We’re upset because God’s love knows no political boundaries. Like the people of Nazareth, there are American Christians who are trying their hardest to push Jesus off the cliff.
I had the most pleasant conversation about theology (and specifically John Calvin) with John Martens. Please share and distribute those far and wide!

Unappreciated underground rock bands of the 1980s... Opal released one killer album on SST records before morphing into Mazzy Star. I found Opal more interesting, with clear Blues, Doors, Psychedelia and T-Rex influences. Enjoy.
