I usually save this one for the last day of school but since it’s playing in the big screen I can’t pass it up. It’s also the kind of movie I get when my birthday is on 4/20. But I’m okay with it.
A crowd of people on a stairway.
Coming this week…
We wish a very happy birthday to MANOR Resident Brian Keiper @brianwaves42.bsky.social ! 🎂🥳🎉🎈

A rare daddy-daughter trip to the theater today. But it’s not every day they show her favorite movie.
Holy Terrors promo featuring stills from several movies mentioned in the episode.
We head back into the booth to talk about some movies we've watched lately. As usual it's an eclectic mix including a look at the recent releases The Drama and Faces of Death. To top it all off, we're both sick as hell and hopped up on goofballs, so a good time will be had by all.
Loved the mention of Lugosi watching himself on screen in THE BLACK CAT (1934) years later, standing up in the theater and exclaiming "WHAT A HANDSOME BASTARD I WAS!"
MANOR Resident & friend Brian Keiper @brianwaves42.bsky.social wrote about it in his excellent piece for @bloody-disgusting.com

MANOR Residents @brianwaves42.bsky.social & @horrordad.bsky.social recently covered the films FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI: JASON LIVES (1986) and KILL LIST (2011) on their podcast, HOLY TERRORS @holyterrors.bsky.social where they examined them through the lens of faith, religion, and spirituality.

In our latest episode, we enter the world of exploitation with Larry Cohen’s classic, "God Told Me To” and ask the question that theologians have been wrestling with for centuries: what if Jesus was an alien, man??
New episode this Friday!

My son and I went into this movie weighed down by all that was going on in the world but boy did this lift us up! As we were driving home my son said “that movie heals.” That’s damn right.

It’s officially spring break and Regal has 70s and 80s comedies all week so I’ll be here every day. Today’s offering…The Jerk.
He is risen!
To celebrate listen to Brian and Pat work their magic to make Friday the 13th Part VI—Jason Lives fit into the format of the show. It actually works out pretty well.
Frankly I can’t think of a better way to spend the morning 😊

Spending Easter morning in my favorite seat in my sanctuary watching a lovely movie about rainbows.
Today is Roger Corman’s 100th birthday! I wrote this a few years ago when he was still with us for @bloody-disgusting.com to celebrate this absolute legend.

Second theatrical viewing of the day. And bonus points because it counts toward my 1978 project.

Starting my day at the movies early and with something new. (And possibly something old, borrowed, and blue, but we’ll see).
Promo featuring stills from several movies discussed in the episode.
We return to The Confessional and talk about several movies including Slanted, The Mortuary Assistant, Demon Pond, Ready or Not 2 and They Will Kill You.
I'm back on @shelfmovie.bsky.social podcast! This go around we explore a ragtag mix of Coppola films. The episode is available now on your podcast app of choice!

Today’s trip to the movies. The big screen feels like the only way to see this one properly, so I’m excited to finally get that chance.
Listening to a recent episode of HOLY TERRORS podcast where Brian and Pat discussed the hypothetical timeline of the Friday the 13th films, it reminded me of a hypothetical of my own. If we were to take this timeline seriously (which we shouldn’t but let’s have fun with it anyways)...

I have spent my day counting down the minutes to seeing Walter Matthau pour whiskey into his beer can. So excited to see my favorite sports movie on the big screen.
If you can get your hands on it, Jeff Rovin's novelization of Fred Walton's APRIL FOOL'S DAY (1986) actually uses the "lost" ending of the movie. It's worth a read.
I wrote about this tie-in book, as well as the movie, a few years ago at @bloody-disgusting.com

Now seated for the best thing to ever come out of this godforsaken calendar day. And on the big screen!
