Biking Boston since 1980. Comic artist, designer, developer. On March 5th I hit a pothole in Kenmore Square and fractured both tibial plateaus. Five weeks in rehab. Facing eviction from my home of 17 years.

it can't tell if the output is true because *it has no concept of truth*. The only thing it "knows" is "this output is correlated"

It is structurally indifferent to truth

I think it's pretty important to understand that algorithmically-run platforms have long understood anger and argument drives much more engagement than just showing you stuff you like, and if you find yourself being made to despair at what a platform shows you, that is the system working as intended
