I’ve never used the word shadenfreude more than I have this morning alone.
It’s election night in Canada. It’s uncomfortably close. The only thing we know for sure is whoever wins will have super annoying victory walk-up music.
It feels impossible to make sense of the horrific attack at the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party in Vancouver. A heavy sadness for all impacted. An immense relief for those that were physically unharmed — though they/we still carry the ambiguous burden of proximity.

Last night’s Junos Nominees Celebration ft. producer David Plowman with recording artist Maddee Ritter… and Michael Bublé.
So so so happy and proud (and smitten!) to see that Maddee Ritter’s Songs of Love & Death is officially Juno nominated! Affectionately recorded, mixed and produced by my darling David Plowman at Patchwork Studios — and the first ever release on Best Breakfast Records 🥞☕️
I’ve listened to this segment 2x. Jesse Wente paints a zoomed out picture of Canada’s cultural identity (incl. how we engage with it as a product) in relation to belonging. Not a news flash: expansionist threats are not new for Indigenous people. www.cbc.ca/listen/live-...

Tariffs making me feel all tri-partisan right now. Ethical non-monogamy — but for taxes.
Normalize being nice.
For non-Canadians:

Started my self-taught bass journey with a P-bass a few years ago — and now happily scaling down (but modding up!) to a Mustang.
